Gap in Peen?

I recently received this Type 18c sword by Swordier and noticed that there’s a gap in the peen. It’s mostly on the one side but the other side has a slight gap too.

Should I be worried about this? It’s wide enough to fit a exacto blade through the gap. I’ll contact Swordier and see what they say but is this a normal amount of gap?

Does the pommel move? If not, then it not a problem at all.

If you are worried about it, hit it with a ball peen hammer a few times until there is no longer a gap.

In my experience beating your peen over and over usually makes things worse
