The band sounded great but the vocals made it real hard to listen to.

Removed for one of /r/SNL's sacred house standards:

They’re sketches, not “skits.”

Dude he’s 1000 years old. That was amazing. ESPECIALLY if you could hear the bass and recognize how amazing that bassline and tone were.

Yeah he’s still an amazing musician

I wouldn’t say “lost” … it’s d/evolved. I’m actually digging this. It was a cool snapshot of a legacy.

He’s almost 84 years old… keep in mind that he did a sound check, a run through, and a full show last night. How many 84 year olds have that stamina and capability? The man’s a living legend and we’re lucky for every performance, even if his voice is shot. It’s unique and humbling to watch one of the greatest artists of all time age like we all will and still give it his all night after after night. If you want to see him at his prime watch an old YouTube video.

I feel ya, but our dude is 83 years old. He’s not going to sound the same as he did in 1975

True. AND his voice is gone unfortunately.

Just wondering, besides Chad who else was playing with him. Steve Vai and who else?

Steve Vai? I totally didn’t recognize him. Cool.

And where is his usual band?

My partner was wrong. He resembles Steve Vai but it was actually Rusty Anderson. The other guy is Brain Ray.
