Our government sold our culture for their benefit of easier work. They’re highly paid to get the difficult job done but somehow we do not have law in place to hold them accountable so this is what we get.

u/wongbikini35 4d ago

Absolutely Right ✅️ and BETRAYED SCAMMED Cheated our own local Singapore 🇸🇬 ones ,that can Be More Productive than the PRC ones to certain tasks .

China 🇨🇳 Histroy of 5000 YEARS since Xia, Zhou,Han, Jin, Sui,Tang ,Song ,Mongolian Yuan, Ming and Manchurian Qing Dynasties Emperors Empire lasted With Well Mannered, Traditional Culture till1911 Revolutionary change to Democracy and Western Powers Influence, Territories like Hong Kong were Ceded Perpentual "Leased," to Great Britain 🇬🇧 of the 2 Two Opium Wars.,WW2 and China 🇨🇳 Revolution war by Communist Won the War led by late Chairman Mao Ze Dong.

These ARE HISTRIONIC UNDENIABLE FACTS about China 🇨🇳

Alas that good ones Suffered and Eradicated during Cultral Revolution that led to Massive Migration Overseas like Singapore 🇸🇬, United States 🇺🇸, United kingdom 🇬🇧, Australia 🇦🇺, Canada 🇨🇦, Malaysia 🇲🇾, Taiwan 🇹🇼,EU etc.

The UN and the west Condemned the Culprits of the Revolution then.

u/PAPasNCMP 4d ago

Hello, Taiwan is a country. China is invading it.

HK should be a country of its own. China is taking advantage of their current progress. LOL

5

u/wongbikini35 4d ago edited 4d ago

Absolutely Right ✅️

Taiwan 🇹🇼 should become e a Separate Sovereign Country ,So As to Tibet, Xinjiang Uighur and Hong Kong Histrionic DON'T even belong to China and Vietnam wasn't even Considered part of China!

6

u/Go_Outside12345 4d ago

China should be this flag 🇹🇼.

🇨🇳 is "New China" that has nothing to do with Imperial China or Real China 🇹🇼.

New China has only existed since 1949. New China is younger than Donald Trump.

1

u/wongbikini35 4d ago edited 4d ago

Real China Flag was in fact was used to be Kuomingtan of Republic of China under Nationalist Rule after the 1911Revolution against Qing Dynasty led Modern China Founder, Dr Sun Yat Sen.

The Civil War fought in 1949 between pro Communist Forces against Nationalist Kuomintang lost and fled to Taiwan 🇹🇼, which Adopted the Flag and Called themselves "Republic of China ".

In perspective, Taiwan 🇹🇼, known as Daiwan was in Fact Histrionic linked to Japan Empire since 300 BCE, even The Roman Empire with Emperor Julius Ceaser and Egyptian Queen Cleopatra were Alive and knew about Existence of Daiwan.

Real UNDENIABLE FACTS!

The own government look down on their citizens why would PRC do anything different

60

u/ENTJragemode 4d ago

since the 2010s, it's not new

do you blame them? SG taxpayer dollars fund scholarships to invite these people into our country from the secondary school level, sometimes bond-free full ride scholarships. we rather give these scholarships to china scholars who are often older than our own students to compete with us. when they call us dogs, we are expected to reflect on why we are called dogs.

if im the chinaman i will also be entitled and arrogant

15

u/perkinsonline 3d ago

I personally know a girl that was picked from China and given full NUS scholarship. She graduated and then just left SG. Free scholarship!

2

u/Budget_Pick_5777 4h ago

im in sec school, there are vietnamese scholars and all plan on going back after they done with jc

7

u/Late-Hunt8143 4d ago

This kind of blame-shifting and scapegoating only deepens the divide instead of solving anything.

1

u/rabbitlove01 4d ago

Yeah I totally agree, it's sad that so many people think this way. I'm hoping that it's just the Reddit echo chamber that thinks this way

4

u/Sceptikskeptic 4d ago

when they call us dogs, we are expected to reflect on why we are called dogs.

Wtf man he didn't even admit to any fault, just basically said "I'm sorry you feel that way"

What the hell

2

u/ENTJragemode 4d ago

and he is very well loved now, every time there's a mention of him, redditors will come out of the cracks to sing his praises about how he is present / engaged with the estate he manages

most sinkies have the memory of a fly and the bar for an MP is to just be able to show up

0

u/wongbikini35 4d ago

Exactly and like Pro United States 🇺🇸 Trump MAGA Brainless Supporters aliked!

1

u/levixtrival 3d ago

These graduated scholars are driving or riding in uber

1

u/Sherpa1996 20h ago

The biggest irony is that to serve the bond, they will have to work in Singapore and the position could have been given to a Singapore local. But if they can't find a job, they won't have to pay the money to break the bond because they can't find a job here anyway in the first place so its involuntary. So either way, they get either a free degree without bond or a job in Singapore. Its almost a sure-win.

0

u/PAPasNCMP 4d ago

Not just SG taxpayers... 65% of voters voted for it...

0

u/ObiGod 4d ago

I agree that it’s not new, but your last statement says more about you than them.

1

u/ENTJragemode 3d ago

ok chinaman

-1

u/Fenrispro 4d ago

:(  how do u know they bond free? I read of Ceca, is there official agreem with Prc?

1

u/ENTJragemode 4d ago

some scholarships are bond free... not all

20

u/Oisinx 4d ago

They do it because they aren't told to f*ck off.

16

u/GroguTheBabyz 4d ago

Saw many of them spitting onto the floor in Shanghai and eating on the train during my holiday. So disgusting and un-hygieneic!

3

u/MLGSwaglord1738 4d ago

If that’s bad you’re not going to enjoy a visit to any Western country. In American subways people bring animals and boomboxes, and don’t pay for transit. There’s a famous German influencer called streichbruder whose whole thing is blasting music on public transit. Don’t even get started on train reliability; in NY or SF you can wait 15-25 min for your train to arrive vs 2-6 in SG.

SG is a bubble of calm and order in an increasingly messy and chaotic world.

16

u/Karoliner-Provost 4d ago

I’m PRC and have been in SG for 8+ years, people who are raised by Chinese education really end up having this very self-centred and arrogant mentality because all they’re being told is that they’re the best and everyone outside is inferior (literally in the name of China, Zhong Guo means the country in the middle). This mindset is then enforced by the censorship. China is good at producing people who are only good for the country, which no longer works in the highly globalised 21st century. When these people get exported they become nuisances like what you see.

Therefore it’s necessary for people in China to leave early and get education that isn’t focused on just producing loyal workers for the state. Unfortunately it‘s now locked in a vicious cycle where the whole country is taught to be isolated and self-centred, then they wonder why the world thinks of them like that.

11

u/vogelchevalier_ 4d ago

Not everyone from China causes issues, but they do seem to make up the vast majority of the public nuisances reported in most news, especially in Southeast Asia nations, apart from Indians

8

u/orobas05 4d ago

It's due to their high population. Even if 95% of them have good manners, 5% of those with poor manners are still in the tens of millions.

6

u/ZaetiaPryce 4d ago

Yup, China and India have 1.5 billion population each.
If 10% of each population is regards, that's 150 million bad apples.
So the odds of someone behaving badly being Chinese or Indian is very high.

1

u/wongbikini35 4d ago

Exactly and soon will be the Repeat of the Soviet Union USSR Final.stages of Unrest ,Rebellious ones seen like in Russia 🇷🇺 on verge of Total Collaspe of 1991and Dissolved PERMANENT to Independent Sovereign Countries which is Inevitable unavoidable too!!

1

u/wongbikini35 4d ago edited 4d ago

If Russia 🇷🇺 Collaspe again, you will understand the Consequences as old Famous quotes!

The Leaders of China 🇨🇳 , Russia 🇷🇺 and North Korea ARE Afraid of those Unrests,Threats of Dissent Rebellions like Ancient times trying to."Appease" the people but Not Sufficient!

Empires Created and Eventual Demise Collaspe!

1

u/No-Juggernaut-2487 1d ago

30 yrs Singaporean, I'm pretty sure thats hkers, twese, north koreans and indians you are talking about here (not to mention aussies and other white trashes

10

u/Akusd5 4d ago

This has been happening for a long time. It’s nothing new. They’ve been entitled since forever.

7

u/raidorz 4d ago

Then stand up against them lor

7

u/ProfessionalBoth3788 4d ago

As what KJ so aptly said ..ppl get the govt they deserved, so pls dun complain and just suck it up.

11

u/PureCockroach2142 4d ago

The PRC's truly believe that Singapore should be a part of China, what they don't really understand is that Because of the special relationship between LKY and Deng XP, Deng closely followed Singapore's economic policies for China to be able to achieve what they have today. They should be grateful NOT Entitled 😞.

1

u/Accomplished-Ad3432 3d ago

Gratefulness is not in their vocabulary.

1

u/Expert_Resource87 1d ago

They thought we paid tributes to them rather than investments. Thus we lowered ourselves to these people.

8

u/pat-slider 4d ago

We must not permit their cultures to saturate ours

5

u/Eltharion-the-Grim 4d ago

There are always going to be bad eggs. The issue is assuming everyone who comes here is going to be good egg.

10

u/Low_Watch9864 4d ago

Hmm the entitlement mentality didnt originate from prc la. Its been around ever since mainland Chinese emigrated in droves to singapore in the 19th century

3

u/JoeDyenz 4d ago

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't most Singaporeans of Chinese descent? I guess that's what they mean by "PRC".

5

u/roksah 4d ago

The diff is Singaporeans Chinese are already integrated

4

u/RoarkillerZ 4d ago

Lol sure bo? Racism amongst sg chinese is very alive n well. Ask any non-chinese.

7

u/Odd-Understanding399 4d ago

My non-Chinese friends tell me that they're pretty racist too. They call me Chink, I call them Apu Neneh and Mat Yoyo. It's all good. Wonder WTF happened these days to make everyone's panties get twisted.

3

u/RoarkillerZ 4d ago

Because you can joke abt it. Meanwhile they're getting sidelined from jobs, promotions, prejudiced behaviour, rejected from tenancy, etc etc.

It's all funny with friends, not so much in actual life.

1

u/Odd-Understanding399 4d ago

Would it help that they're now bosses of their own company, one an events company (almost bankrupt due to COVID), and another is a ship chandler, while I'm the lowly office worker? XD

3

u/JoeDyenz 4d ago

Integrated to what?

2

u/MLGSwaglord1738 4d ago

Singapore’s strict rules and rigid way of life built up by the regime to maximize economic efficiency as an open, cosmopolitan hub. Even things like chewing gum were justified as reducing maintenance/cleaning costs.

Not that Singaporeans are some posh, dignified people either; go on the tabloids like mothership and you’ll find plenty of unhinged activities people get up to. Or just see how well the vaping ban is holding up at CQ amongst the local youths.

Everyone complains about Singapore culture/“Sinkies” here (e.g. “the 65%”) but hates it when others don’t conform to it, while envying vastly different ways of life in other countries and complaining about how awful life here is due to the government (usually idealizing Australia for its Western, laid back, suburban style of living and tolerance for Singaporean immigrants). Nearly every aspect of Singapore culture is carefully curated and controlled by this subreddit’s favorite political party, even how Singaporeans should speak has been molded through decades of government campaigns. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? In fairness, Reddit isn’t the place to get consistent or coherent political opinions; Singapore Instagram is generally better for coherent criticisms.

1

u/Low_Watch9864 4d ago

Integrated or displaced the original inhabitants

7

u/DoubleDownBear 4d ago

Probably in-house propaganda mentioned singapore belongs to them

6

u/Street-Lie-2751 4d ago

14 years of propaganda that China has surpass US as the preponderant power

6

u/Odd-Understanding399 4d ago

I'd say there are 3 issues within China which complimented and boosted each other:
1) Extreme lack of social empathy - With the loss of Confucian ethics after the Cultural Revolution, people forgot to behave; looking down on those with less material wealth, looking up to (and hoping to steal from) those with more material wealth.
2) Governmental implementation of pro-capitalist regulations within a socialist framework - It creates an Orwellian "Animal Farm" dystopia where people get exploited to the point where helping one another can (and have) cause terrible harm to good samaritans.
3) Douyin (Tiktok) - With the rise of such social apps and government-approved algorithms, videos boasting about national pride and putting down other countries become the norm. Uploading vids of self dishonoring other countries (especially Japan, Korea, India, and USA) will net a lot of social approval.

3

u/Raitoumightou 4d ago

I used to work in the Expo area, there was this chinese auntie and her son who boarded the train at Tanah Merah and I walked in with them at the same time.

They took their seats, I was about to sit down at an empty seat beside them and suddenly this auntie (I kid you not) body blocks the seat and just stares at me.

She beckons her to someone, her husband who walked in way behind us and quickly motions for him to take a sit.

The first word out of her voice, and it was a China accent. Thankfully, the train wasn't that crowded, I quickly found another seat. I was just annoyed and probably should have just shoved her and just sat down.

3

u/Impossible-Loquat124 4d ago

They believe they will take over sg one day . So what u seeing is a trailer only.

5

u/Moist-Appearance-858 4d ago

The know China is richer than Singapore! Shit attitude even in public bus! And most of them stay in comdom!!

2

u/civicguy72 4d ago

Cause they are pappies number 1 darlings now

2

u/SGMemories 4d ago

The other day at the waterway point popular, a Chinese woman jumped queue claiming that her son was already there for a long time (not true). It reminded me of the queue cutting habits you see in China. This is the culture we are importing sadly.

2

u/OpaBelezaChefia 3d ago

They’re infuriating. One time I was in the LRT with my girlfriend and one of them was holding a mug filled with coffee (with no lid). She spilled all the coffee in our shoes and just acted like nothing happened, no apology or anything. They’re legitimately brain dead

4

u/CutEmbarrassed9463 4d ago

have u seen singaporeans behave when overseas? lol its not an unique problem.

5

u/MiddlingMandarin71 4d ago

They have always been this way. And we have traitor Singaporeans who insist we must go out of our way to ingratiate ourselves with these mainlanders.

3

u/temporary_name1 4d ago

Prcs have always been like that

4

u/ExtremeBasis5697 4d ago

Its rich ppl lar......Sinkies, Malaysians, PRC, Indians..all act entitled. Perhaps u say PRC, u though they are lowly paid workers taking Public Transports...maybe they are already rich...already have millions of dollars? I only know Sinkies and Malysians, only have 50k-100k already act rich...i know an upper caste Indian, normal HDB, no car but act like rich man (nice to me but can be rude to others) ...latter found out he indeed have a lot of money in India, with connections as well.

U not sure, juts go Malaysia / Indonesia and watch how nany Sinkies act there....like big shot....but there to buy cheap stuff and steal cheap petrol....

1

u/One-Jeweler6402 1h ago

LoL. Funny

2

u/Go_Outside12345 4d ago

Hi OP, I see you are enjoying the culture of people from "New China" under the CCP.

That old China with that "5000" year history does not exist anymore.

2

u/Jessicanono888 4d ago

Because our government never say anything about this

1

u/HamsterAce 4d ago

XHS teach one, got time can go XHS watch them complain every single thing about SG

1

u/FeatureOriginal7234 4d ago

Anyone can be snobbish, regardless of nationality. We also have Singaporeans going in to JB to fight or litter. I think the same mentality can happen to anyone coming to Singapore be it those from China or India.

1

u/Sad_Plankton3505 4d ago

so only sg chinese are allowed to behave this way? and how are u generalizing 1B+ people based on some incidents- did you fail in statistics and maths at school- you don't know how to generalize and what are you achieving by such generalization, u want to hate all chinese- what do you achieve, they will still be here.

Stop taking upskirt photos first then lets talk further, we should generalize all singaporeans are voyeurs.

1

u/sjdmgmc 4d ago

Has y'all been living in a cave? PRCs have been this obnoxious since ages ago. The whole knows it and they hate them. And when we (other East Asians) travel overseas, we got mistaken as them even though we (other East Asians) are much much better than them.

1

u/UnusualExamination82 4d ago

They think all Chinese come from China and has the same culture and education as them.

1

u/sumbohdi 3d ago

Golden child.

1

u/SilverAccountant8616 3d ago

Prc have bad rep here but if u think about it ah, can u really say none of these apply to sgreans also? Only difference is one born here one born there.

1

u/otvovice21 3d ago

These are issues that need to be nipped at the bud with overwhelmingly harsh responses from all levels.

1

u/Purple_Republic_2966 3d ago

Read about some tiong making a scene after a shop wouldn’t accept CNY

1

u/Available-Log6733 3d ago

Communism killed all semblance of civil behavior.

The taiwanese don't behave like that.

1

u/Reasonable_Tea7628 3d ago

Coz they are tiongs.

And kp simi? Elections don’t wanna vote properly then after that complain and complain.

1

u/Gene46 2d ago

Well they are buying up a lot of residential and commercial property, also alot of F&B is owned by them, so in in a sense, they do own the country. /s

1

u/Educational_Row_671 2d ago

They're now S'pore status operating massage.. other wise called f..k shops all over SG. Here to spoil local S'porean reputation. And when they make enough m, they move to greener pastures (claiming as S'poreans).. bcoz life in SG real tough!

1

u/AmazingAndy 2d ago

It’s literally govt policy to import more prc to maintain ethnic balance. They would understandably feel entitled to the country at the point.

1

u/thinkingperson 2d ago

What to do? Even Trump has much respect for Xi and Chyna. keke

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Suit_75 2d ago

But when you go to china and start yelling at them to speak english you’d be lucky not to get pounded to a pulp by the crowds

1

u/Bowen_s 1d ago

After reading your post, I understand that Singaporean Chinese are still Chinese. There is no difference. It's all about regional discrimination and foreign worship.

1

u/alibaba406 1d ago

When i was working in a china dominated science lab, i was shunned and ostracised by them because i could not speak mandarin. It was horrible.

1

u/PlayWithMyPingPong 1d ago

Because they can't do the same shit at home so when they go overseas they go full ape mode plus they been told that coming from a big country means a strong country so to them all the small countries must give in.

1

u/Acrobatic-Let-353 21h ago

Any nationality who stay long in Singapore will become entitled. All learn from the source which is us, local Singaporeans.

1

u/Sherpa1996 20h ago

It's a traveler complex. You can google it. Apparently, being away from your usual home/workplace gives people a sense of anonymity that makes people unafraid to be more direct, more hostile, loud and defensive. You see that in many other travelers, not just PRC (Indian tourists, Arabs, and certain groups of young Ang Mohs too) but you may be quicker to pick them out because as a group, the PRC travelers have always been loud and boisterous.

1

u/yes-im-hiring-2025 17h ago

Not all PRC, but always a PRC uncle breaking every darn queue and especially rushing into MRT before letting people alight.

Want to shoulder check them HARD one of these days omw to work....

1

u/Fresh-Durian-9300 15h ago

Back in secondary school there was this prc student who name his personal WhatsApp name “Malay dog” inside the WhatsApp class group

1

u/No_Huckleberry_3114 10h ago

What you talking about bro they've always been entitled fucks. Obviously not all of them, but the loudest minorities are the ones causing all the issues.

I remember once, this china kopitiam auntie ask me for my order, I say "hundred plus" and this dipshit had the audacity to say "你是华人, 说华语" (you're a Chinese person speak Chinese"

I told her "我不是华人, 我是新加坡人. 如果你要说华文,滚回中国". (I'm not Chinese, I'm Singaporean, and if you want to hear Chinese only, piss off back to China.)

Tbh, I see this with the loudest people from the mainland countries (China, India, USA). Must be the nationalistic pride in them that gives them the audacity.

Sadly, CEO Wong wants their cash and headcount. What can we employees of Singapore PTE LTD do?

1

u/One-Jeweler6402 1h ago

Yeah in general PRC can be rude and very competitive , cut queue etc, I have met many PRCs that live in singapore for a while. They tend to be nicer, same like other culture indian for example are better after they live in sg for a while. I dont think they particularly looking down at singaporeans. I prefer to think thst they just need time to adapt. However no tolerance to the scam and spammer which most likely coming from china but bsed in myanmar

1

u/Vinda99 4d ago

Because even their strangers can have dinner with Ministers.

I barely see any PAP until right before an election.

1

u/Jean_Diharo 4d ago

They have a more direct style of communication. Sg more indirect. Both got pro and con. Either way, self awareness is key.

1

u/PAPasNCMP 4d ago

we should just ignore these PRC.

By law it's not a must to give up seats. If they keep demanding for it then call 999 in front of them.

1

That Was long Ago When Hong Kong was under British Colonial Government rule and Never Experience such PRC attitudes back in 80 and 90s pre Handiver back to Mainland China 🇨🇳 on July 1st 1997.

Hong kong 🇭🇰 Had Enjoyed Freedom, Democracy under British Colonial Government Rule and Everything Changed after July 1997.

These ARE Facts!!

1

u/Silverelfz 4d ago

Back in the 80s and 90s I don't think Singaporeans had a good experience there if they didn't speak Cantonese bruh. Facts.

My mum took CX to go to Chaoshan with a elderly group and they were laughed at on the plane for not understanding English as well. My mum does understand, that's why she knew they were being laughed at. This was 90s.

Let's just say #cxcarpetgate is not an isolated incident.
