SAP EWM

Hi Everyone,

I recently got oppertunity to work in SAP EWM role. But I am security and Basis consultant with 5 years experience. Now I am confused whether I have been matched correctly or I have been mapped in wrong technology.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts.

Basis is tied to EWM for integration, as it's generally a separate system, but it's a totally different and very complex module, if you're expected to do config, setup, etc. testing. If the latter is the case, yes that's a massive mismatch and I would clarify it asap.

Okay so my question is EWM is not module with ECC or S4HANA like FO, MM SD? They gave me a hint that RFC creation and data maintenance will also be there but I thought they were talking about the gernal stuff.

Are you currently in EWM

Depends. You can run EWM on a decentral system outside the ERP and there will be some basis stuff involved to set up RFC Queues, WE20, master data distribution, printers, etc. There is also an embedded version running inside the ERP. I suppose that there's also some basis set up required there, but I have no experience there.
