Mandela Effect

What’s the point of that sub? It’s like no one there believes in it. No one ever gets to talk about Mandela Effects.

I will die on the hill that it was BerenSTEIN Bears. I could read very young, and while my mom was grocery shopping, I’d read from the book stand. It was the 80s in a small town, in a small store, so I was ok being alone while my mom shopped. I remember wondering how to pronounce it. Why do I have that memory if it never was spelled that way?!

That’s my biggest one I just can’t get over. I also remember riding in the car with my mom and asking what does “objects in mirror MAY BE closer than they appear” meant.

A few years ago, I made a post there about a Mandela Effect that I couldn't find on Google. I'm not going to go into great detail unless someone really wants to know, but essentially, I'm from a reality where F-15s were reengineered for aircraft carriers in the late 70s and that's the fighter jet that was used in the Top Gun movie.

I had discovered that in this reality, that never happened and in the movie, they used F-14s. That one blew my mind and I made a post about it, only to be argued with repeatedly about it.

I still have yet to find another person who remembers F-15s in the movie.

I remember my husband called the jet by its nickname and that’s how I remember that the TOMcat was in TOM Cruise movie. Also, he HAD to use the F-14 because the F-15 is Air Force.

That's this reality and it's not the one I'm from. They were F-15 Eagles in mine. Here, they're F-14 Tomcats.

But Eagles are Air Force, not Navy. They were Navy in the movie. There would have been riots in the streets if they didn’t use a Navy jet.

As I stated in my original comment, where I'm from, sometime in the late 70s, or thereabouts, they designed an aircraft carrier ready variant of the F-15. It completely dominated the F-14 and the Navy quickly retired the F-14.

The movie Top Gun helped promote the idea of the F-15 being the best Navy fighter jet.
