Working Redbox
Spying in Novato, California at a gas station still was plugged in and working was trying to tell the people I was with that this was rare and they did not believe me

That lightbox is a rare one... one Redbox was trying to phase out. That has a rare "12-pack" - one of the few kiosks that still had that when I was working there. Printing new ones for those meant printing a low quantity plus area in terms of square inches meant it was really expensive to print new 12-packs. That 12-pack likely dates back to 2017 or 2018... which is funny considering all of the signage was intended to be replaced after 18 months.
This lightbox also had the genres listed... where you'd have "horror""action" etc. at the top, and in theory you'd have action or horror in those columns. The "Comedy" genre was a problem. Hollywood had pretty much stopped making "big budget" comedies by 2020-ish, so the definition of what was a "comedy" had to get a little loose. We even printed black labels to cover the genre slots... but it appears that never made it to this kiosk.

Probably the last 10 posts I have seen the past few weeks about Redbox Kiosks have all been in CA or TX. We have none left in VA. I grabbed 2 in the fall of 2024 when removal in my area was at an excelerated pace.
