I like brushing and applying good stuff to my boots or shoes in general. I have heard around here not to apply nothing to my Hawthorne’s . I definitely don’t want them to darken. Any product suggestions??

Go to Home Depot or your equivalent and buy you a 3 brush set in the paint department. It's usually a Nylon, Brass, and Stainless steel brush. 5 or 6 bucks. Those three will take care of just about anything that happens to the boots whether they get wet or a stain of sorts. Use the stainless steel very sparingly if ever.

Yes, you should steel brush them daily.

Maybe if you're tryina speed run the patina along lol
