So what is it? Series 6 lacking something?

Is it the lack of Hattie? Not being on Red Dwarf? Or something else?

On my current watch through I really notice the show start to become a parody of itself and lack the authenticity of previous series.

Can anyone explain it succinctly to a lowly third technician like me?

Between series 5&6, Red Dwarf Smegazine ran a ranking poll of best episodes, the top three were, Back to Reality, Polymorph, and Dimension Jump. Emohawk was basically a combination of those three episodes, so it did kind of feel a bit like a parody of itself
