New to area and looking for local music scene!

Hello, I just moved here from California, and I'm looking to find the local music scene, and try and make some friends in the process. If anybody can point me in a general direction that would be greatly appreciated!

Pour house in Raleigh. Cat’s Cradle is a mix of local and bigger names.

Try the Berkley in Raleigh. They have a lot ( or used to in the old location) of local bands play there or maybe the Pour House (Also in Raleigh). Sorry, I don't know the scene around Durham.
