Mainly Node.js rn Backend uses Express + Socket.IO Working with local file storage rn optional MongoDB Whole thing is being built modular so desktop/mobile apps can connect easily later on

cool concept but I've seen a lot of these start strong and stall out. what makes this different from just running Mastodon or Matrix? is there any code up yet or is this still in the ideas phase?

Main difference is im focusing more heavily on local first hosting and tighter community system instead of js another federated social app focusing more on community/creators running their own spaces directly from their own machine/server with way more control and nah this isnt an idea phase anymore i already build a big part of backend cors system auth real time socket moderation bots permissions upload endpoints anti raid bot security stuff

I think this is definitely the right project you're working on- it's the logical next step to me on how the internet evolves.

now I'm tryna find people that wanna help shape it early.

Speaking of shaping it early, how much room for change and suggestions is there? I have multiple ideas we could discuss that could give further benefits if they aren't already in the plan, but I found that people usually have their plans set in stone already, so I usually can't help to shape or improve it, only put it into action.

But this is definitely the type of project I can help code, have experience with, and can dedicate my time towards if it works out.
