Computer Science Small Community

Hey, I arrived to Denamrk for my masters at DTU a couple of months ago. I am an international, with CS interests. Normally I am involved with communities like Pioner AI and others around Denmark this moment

But as a small group, I was looking to exchange and work along other people interested in a small group format. To explore, share and talk about projects trending in gitlab, bitbucket, github. Build our own small project, discuss HuggingFace whitepapers and overall have each other to ask for help if reading something complicated.

The intention is to network, with like-minded (nerdy) people, be able to talk and laugh a bit while also sharing the opportunity to exchange interests that normally you wouldn't talk about all that openly because you sound (mostly insane XD)

If you are more around sustainability AI development and human interaction doors are open as well!

Maybe find an area in CS you feel really compelled to investigate firstly, any IEEE or similar whitepapers or any ongoing project from a researcher is good

That makes sense, thanks for the suggestion.

Yesterday I was looking at how NumPy was build and how it uses arrays in C and FORTRAN so, this topics are something I would like to talk about more in depth. (One of many, do you like the idea of being part of the community?)

Yh Im in. NumPy's internals are interesting.. the strided array model in C is what makes vectorized ops that fast. tho i like working closer to the metal usually. but this kind of systems+ML intersection is interesting.

Cool, feel free to propose topics, I'm just in the recruitment process to have a good healthy community. I'll send you the invite once created

Sure thing, I would wish people with diverse backgrounds as well.

If you want to dig into the CS parts of web development you can look at project like pretext, duckdb, and many others who actively publish papers

Yes, mainly I've tried one community for building before and non of us had accountability. So just talking through project sharing infromation we like might spark an actual conversation and you learn by exchanging intersts mainly and collaborating

I do think for me, I will promote the community to take seriously the participation, although not obliged to create or do any project, participation will be require at a minimun to preserve some of the community intend

Hi there! I'm currently on my bachelor's degree (halfway through, though I already hold my associate's degree), I am focused heavily on math (currently doing calculus and algebra I and II) for data analysis/science, AI and computational complexity theory. I also like backend, but I don't know much of it. I know SQL, Python, R and Java (in that order). I have built some projects on deepnote, posted some code on github, created a software company in my country and worked in a health-tech startup.

How can we get in touch?
