Question! Trimming question

Post image

This has recently started to happen to me while trimming, and at first I thought the problem was that I was not pushing hard enough or the wheel was too slow (which usually fixes this problem for me), but my usual fixes did not work. I managed to get it pretty even eventually by slowing the wheel down, but how can I avoid this from happening at all?

Get a shaver and hold it so it hits the high spots first. Then finish trimming. You may be resting the tool on the clay so that it follows any irregularities in the form. Brace yourself, hold the tool still. It may also be slightly off center.

Yes, shaver FTW. This is my favorite tool.

Bought a MudTools version not really knowing what to expect, yes it has become one of my top three tools.
