Women couldn't vote before 1920 either. Or founding fathers were assholes. I don't put much stock in their opinions about anything.

i have a lot of beef with thomas jefferson, but i present to you one thing he got right:

We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.

at least some of the time. he was a very contradictory person.
