Help Plex Server Remote Access

Hello, I'd like to set up a Plex server on my Synology NAS for my music.

I want to stream the music on the go.

Do I need to open any ports on my router, or can I do this via Plex Connect or my account?

You can use plex relay for music vs opening a port, it’s limited to 1Mbps without a plex pass or 2Mbps with one, that speed is not guaranteed. It’s enabled by default in the plex settings.

If you want full bandwidth for your streaming, you need to open a port on your router and manually specify that port in the plex server settings.

You can also setup tailscale to remote into your network and not open any ports
