UPDATE: Rescued Robin "Robocat" 8 Months After!

Hello, Pirate Kitties!

It's been 8 months ever since my last post about Robin coming home from his surgery, and I just wanted to give a long-due update on how he looks right now!

Robin is a stray cat I saved last July 8, 2025, when I saw half of his face being eaten away by necrosis. I fundraised his initial healing process, but realized his left eye was in danger because of his missing eyelid (eaten by necrosis). The vet said that he would never be able to live a normal life. But I couldn't just believe that, so I came to this subreddit for advice, and lo and behold, with the amazing help and words of this community and so many generous and kind people who donated for his two surgeries (eyelid reconstruction and enucleation), Robin has defied all odds and now lives comfortably as a pirate kitty! If you would like to see past photos of Robin's journey posted on this subreddit, click here, here and here!

Currently, Robin is living splendid! No more annoying cone and eyedrops needed, he's become much more playful and... round. Our vet loves pointing out how lovely and fat he's gotten ever since I first found him! Robin absolutely adores his little bed, playing with his brother Jack, scratching any sort of cardboard I toss at him, and eating. He has monthly checkups that I pay for with odd jobs, and he has an upcoming neuter tomorrow! I checked his health with the vet, and she said he's in perfect condition for it.

I would like to thank this community and subreddit again for all your support and kind words for both me and Robin. These past 10 months have been nothing short but extraordinary for me, as it is my first time rescuing and taking care of an injured cat. There really was a time where I thought Robin would never be able to live a normal life, but now he is! And it really is all thanks to the help and most importantly the hope you all gave me and Robin. Thank you for trusting me with your donations and thank you for believing in Robin. This is all possible because of you, and I truly mean that. Thank you so much!

Robin <3 U all!
