Company Talk Pfizer Graduate Placement Salary

Hi all,

Hope you are all enjoying the sunny days we have (occasionally)

I was asked to provide with a salary expectation for a graduate intern position( 6 months) in Newbridge Pfizer. I was wondering if 34-36k would be a reasonable expectation.

Please let me know what you think. Thank you in advance.

Ps: i have a 6 months QC student experience in an analytical lab and currently want to gain experience in a manufacturing environment

I started on the grad program in 2020 in Grange Castle, as an Engineer with about six months internship experience. My starting salary was €35k and that was 6 years ago.

If I were you I'd be putting it down at €37k to €40k, but I can understand not wanting to be too cheeky.

Also as a note, I wasn't asked what salary I expected, I was just told the salary was €35k. But considering it was the pandemic, I was just glad to have a job, I didn't even do any research to find out if that was a good rate or not xD I went on to get a full time role with them and work for ~5 years.

How I wished I had consulted here before submitting a range, I ultimately went with 34-36k. I had done some research as well, stating it was around 39-41k in Grange Castle but that was a graduate program. I am also desperate for any kind of job at this point, seeing how bad the Pharma job market is.

It used to be 35k before COVID at grange castle. I'd imagine it would have since increased from that

As an intern for the summer ? Anything above minimum wage is a bonus. The 23 month grand role is is 42k I believe

It was advertised as a graduate placement for 6 months so i wasn't sure if putting the salary expectation same as those 2 year graduate program would be suitable. and honestly like you said anything above min wage is honestly good enough since I am quite desperate for a job to gain GMP

Your number #1 priority should be getting foot through the door. Go for 36k to maximize your chances

Ask them what the range on offer is and make your descision based off that- never just give a number first as you could be selling yourself short

Were you a part of the graduate rotational program?

This is for a graduate 6-month placement, so I had thought that maybe it wouldn't be considered at the same pay range, but thanks for the info!

I did placement here as part of my undergrad and it was minimum wage through CPL.

You should be expecting around 4500/5000 per month in abbvie they used to get that . Stop thinking learning. You are giving your entire time to them. Cleaners handyman charges 50-60/hr think you are far better than them.

They’re not really, I wouldn’t listen to this advice. There is a reason it is downvoted. The most important thing for you right now is experience.

i did not even notice the downvotes thanks for the heads up

I don't know about Europe I worked at abbvie at abbot Park USA as a senior leader and hired interns and pay was that . I had over 4-5 interns in summer . I don't care about downvotes

abbot Park USA

The difference here is probably the location. In Ireland summer intern salaries would the equivalent of a salary in the low €30k range. Maybe even lower.

Yah straight in on €60k+, sounds likely…
