Will be interesting to see how long it takes for this to blow up.I’m immediately hooked serious animated dramas are so rarely made so I hope it gets more popular

Will never understand how animation isn’t more popular outside Japan and anime

Especially compared to high profile live action tv shows most recently house of the dragons or lord of the rings but even compared to animated movies like minions granted I meant more serious dramas like Soul but even that feels very juvenile at times despite how much I love that movie

All that rambling aside I thought this was great premier. I feel all the characters were really well defined and felt real. Will be curious if the eventual meet up between the two teen leads will be purely platonic

Annnnnnd it’s canceled. I hate the state of modern animation…. :(

I’ll just go back to waiting for the next season of Invincible.

All I know is that it's not the easiest series to find a stream for

Oh yeah for sure. I kinda had to use a different method if you know what I mean

It’s the audio mastering more than the voice acting for me. It feels muted and fuzzy which is weird cuz everything else in the show is sharp and crisp

I'm watching right now and was just thinking this. It's really cool, but their voices sound like they have a cloth over their mouth. The other sound design seems on point, they must've recorded it in a sub-optimal sound booth or something. Unless that's what they were going for lol.

yeah that was so weird in a beginning scene with the mom and daughter. i thought something was wrong with my speakers

What's the deal with the hacker kid's fake parents? Are they secretly using him to solve problems for them by pretending he has some engineer dad who subtly challenges him?

9

u/CaphalorAlb Sep 05 '22

yeah, that was weird - some strange kind of manipulation going on there

the mother seemed to be part of Logorythm, so maybe he's a 'downloaded' consciousness? or something like that, a lab rat

I’m pretty sure he some genetically engineered super kid or something they were talking about gene editing earlier on in the show so it would make sense

"Like Montana?" was a great line. Poor Caspian deserved a better reaction.

I'm not reading but be specific about what season spoilers you're talking about. Why would you comment a season 2 spoiler on a season 1 episode 1 post?

because they are a fucking idiot

The video quality is so poor!

5

u/Lostdogdabley Sep 05 '22

Hidive video looks fine on my fhd tv

2

u/JLChamberlain42 Sep 05 '22

I pirate the show to watch it & haven’t seen a HiDive release so I can’t speak on that. It will probably be the same quality as Amazon & AMC, I mean even the open sequence for AMC isn’t sharp.

3

u/Lostdogdabley Sep 05 '22

That’s insane to me. It’s high quality for me

2

u/JLChamberlain42 Sep 05 '22

I’m not the only person who’s reported bad video quality (artifacting), will have to wait until I can get my hands on a HiDive release to see if their video is better.

The smart teen's parents definitely seem like bad guys. Interesting episode 1. So, the father can only use emojis because they banned words.

Spotted the Evangelion reference! (The 'NERD' sticker in the back of Maddie's laptop is a reference to the NERV logo)

Interesting.

Given the title, and the talk of mythology at the start, my guess is that Logorythms have uploaded carefully selected consciousness to be UI Gods.

Like how in Overwatch, there are multiple singularities, i.e. gods of the Omnics.
