Discussion Safe surf

Really enjoying this show, about mid way through season 2. My biggest issue is the UI antiviral they introduced. I guess the plot needed a way to take down UIs but it just felt so lazy and rushed. It was like they just easily whipped it up overnight when really that should have taken years of research.

I did not like it either at first, but the show takes you places.

I like that the tracking aspect of it came from Peter's code, and I don't mind there being code created to eliminate other code, but I don't get why the UIs don't seem to be able to defend against it at all.

Because it consumes and uses the UIs to get stronger. Eventually it's like fighting a hive of UIs.

It is certainly way more difficult to build a complex computer program than it is to disrupt/destroy one, so I don't mind the issue with how quickly they made it, but I do wish we got some sort of quick explanation on how it works and why even Holstrum was scared of it and couldn't figure out a workaround. Or maybe there was a scene and I just missed it
