Discussion i wish we saw more of cody in s2 Spoiler

maybe this is an unpopular opinion but cody was one of my favorite characters. he played a huge role in season one and basically went MIA in season two. the only mention we see of him is in the finale where he’s painting laurie after he became a UI himself. i understand he lost his wife for a second time and was most likely grieving, but i always saw him as the activist type and believed he would’ve played a more avenging role against logarithms for laurie during season two. what are your personal thoughts and opinions?

Nah, I agree. I loved Cody. The part where Laurie admitted that she wasn't in love with Cody when she died was heart breaking and I would have loved to see him rediscover himself. The show wouldn't have happened without him.

truly i agree. in those moments his reality probably shattered all over again. first learning his wife was now a UI and secondly learning she didn’t really love him until he gave up everything for her. yet in the end he still paints her with love and light, and i think that process of grief would’ve been one worth exploring. would totally watch a whole season/spin off just on that concept itself

Because despite falling out of love him him, she did love him in the end. That's ultimately why she didn't want him to rescue her backup. She didn't want a version of her that didn't love him to exist.

A hard lesson many people learn is that you can fall out of love with someone. Sometimes it's temporary. Sometimes it's not. But it's devastating either way. And she didn't want either of them to go through it.

Fuck I love the way they handled it. The finale left me feeling empty in a way I can't quite describe. Fantastic show.

It’s unfortunate that s2 is limited to 8 episodes as there’s a few arcs that are just glossed over as the main plot has to move
