Can’t disassemble

So, I have a p365 with an Icarus precision grip module and pmm comp.

I destroyed the finish on the grip module (100% my fault). Anyway, I took it to get cerakoted. When I got it home I tried to disassemble it like I’ve done countless times before, but the slide would not come off. I took it back to the shop that did the Cerakote and they said it’s because of the thumb ledge on the grip module not allowing the takedown lever to rotate completely. I could leave it with them and they would take the back plate off which would allow the striker assembly to come out and the slide would come off.

While that is a short term solution, it is not something I want to do every time I clean the gun.

The takedown lever rotates fine and seems to be where it needs to based on my past experience.

Could this be an issue with the way it was reassembled? The only other possibility is the Cerakote is thick enough that the takedown lever just misses where it needs to be.

Any ideas?

the thumb ledge aka gas petal should not be the problem. It is probably due to the mag stop or take down lever incorrectly installed. On the mag stop make sure the little hook is under the spring.

Cerakote does add some small amount of thickness to the surface. Not sure if the tolerances are that tight to keep it from rotating, but if it worked fine before, it should work fine now.

are you using black steel gas pedal with Icarus thumb ledge? I ran into same issue of the gas pedal not being able to rotate fully due to it contacting the Icarus grip thumb ledge, and I had to Dremel down a small portion of it so it get the clearance.

I didn't do any cerakote so I just applied the aluminum black and went on with it since I'm really not someone who needs my gun clean and prestine
