Small correction, series to release May 5th on KKP.

If you are interested in the article you can also check it out here.

Sorry should be WMMAP in the title (Who Made Me A Princess). Not WWMAP. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I didn't like UTOT or the ending of Twilight Poem, but I love the art in WMMAP. I will check this one out too and keep my expectations as low as possible

Oh fuck, the worsts of the worst has huddled together.

Say what you want about WMMAP but to call Spoon's art the worse is... a choice.

6

u/i_kathz Divine Being Apr 29 '26

I'm not talking about the art, I'm talking about the one that makes it.

That's... a weird thing to say about someone you don't know. Not sure what spoon could've done to make her personally the worst

am i tweaking, or why are you accusing the artist for the plot? aren’t they someone who just draws and og. novel was made by someone else and there’s probably an scenario adapter?

💀Yeah ikr the author's track record is....well I've dropped both UTOT and Twilight Poem, quite some problematic stuff sprinkled in.

And although I previously loved wmmap as its my first Oi, I increasingly dislike it. It didn't have official romance because it was a 'family' Oi but it failed even in that aspect, I hate Claude.

Anyway, not sure how to feel about this, because I've heard the novel is very famous in korea, but at least we know the art will slay hard

Also are the ml and fl related by any chance? Both blonde hair and blue eyes???

u/i_kathz Divine Being Apr 29 '26

I have NO IDEA cause I have read NEITHER. I am judging the artist and the writer themselves based on their track record (Spoon is highly controversial for that side story ending and some involvement in the plagiarism scandal)

10

u/InsertVeryLongName Apr 29 '26

Wait can you explain the side story and plagiarism thing?

17

u/instacolors Mod Apr 29 '26

Also going to add the official document Yunsul made regarding the plagiarism as well as some more detailed info from a wiki link.

51

u/i_kathz Divine Being Apr 29 '26

I was seeing a lot of WMMAP readers disliking how Spoon adapted the side story (i think it was something about Lucathy?), and the whole plagiarism thing is a mess. I linked the summary there.

The author of the original web novel for WMMAP is Plutus, not Spoon. Spoon only did the manhwa adaptation.

Edit so there's no misunderstanding; yes there is accusations of plagiarism against Plutus for copying parts from the web novel of Daughter of the Emperor. Spoon is not involved with the novel, only the manhwa adaptation. So no, there's been no plagiarism from Spoon (afaik).

u/Incinerated_Sequoia Apr 29 '26

I'm still wary of Spoon, despite WMMaP is one of my earliest historical manhwas, and the art is really good, but the way Spoon reduce the romance between Lucas and Athy, and forcing Ezekiel as 2nd ML all to the end of the side stories just irked me so bad.

2

u/345rahim May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26

I hate to be the one to tell you but Ezekiel or ijekiel (as the official tapas translation calls him) was always a 2nd ml. You could even argue he was more of one in the novel, Athy calls him her first love and says she couldn't be with him only bc he's the og ml and belongs to Jennette. At least the manhwa doesn't make Lucas feel like a consolation prize

14

u/spartaxwarrior Apr 29 '26

Considering all the fans who dismiss even the clearest sign of plagiarism because the work with plagiarism is "better," I'm thinking this will still get a bunch of readers regardless of any messiness.

u/Awesomenesspiza Apr 29 '26

+1 on the side story thing

I have mixed feelings about this. I like SJK works and manhwatwt seems to reallyyy like this novel as well yet I think I cant say the same about general manhwa public. I already smell the upcoming hate train both MCs gonna be hit with. If people handle Riftan and Penelope so poorly I can only imagine what Thalia has to come through💀

22

u/Pretty-Age-4461 Apr 29 '26

People want complex characters until they actually get one 💀 Anyway I'm looking forward to the angst train.

11

u/lilwriterUwU If Evil, Why Hot? Apr 29 '26

You think…you think Riftan is complex??

8

u/Pretty-Age-4461 Apr 30 '26

I'm talking about Thalia 🙏

3

u/DefinitionEntire7408 Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

He kinda is tbh, there’s a lot to his character in the novel. Thalia takes lots of Riftan’s nachos in terms of background and personality traits that’s why I’m afraid of how manhwa reading masses would view her

9

u/Alarming-Coyote7574 Apr 29 '26

agreed, I don't think there will be patience with Thalia from the audience, also the recent events in the novel is going to cause confusion

19

u/Agitated-Usual-5948 Apr 29 '26

SPOON IS BACK ???

14

u/Pretty-Age-4461 Apr 29 '26

I've read the spoilers for this novel and somehow it has more angst than under the oak tree but I'm looking forward to this.

u/Aureliusboreus Apr 29 '26

What is the novel about?

u/instacolors Mod Apr 29 '26

Synopsis (MTL)

I pray every day, that this love will die. That I will love you only until today, and by tomorrow, this love will be dead.

Born from an affair, Thalia Roem Ghirta is an ill-fated imperial princess.

She grows up twisted and scarred amid indifferent parents, hostile half-siblings, and servants who openly despise her. To survive, Thalia learns to protect herself by turning thorns toward anyone who comes near.

And yet, even she becomes defenseless before one man.

That man is Varkas Raedgo Shiarkan, the noble lord of the East.

A vassal of the imperial family and heir to a grand duchy, he was raised under relentless expectations of perfection. Shaped by discipline so harsh it bordered on abuse, most of his emotions have long since gone numb.
A man who exists only for his family’s honor and duty.

To fulfill a promise made to the late empress, he becomes engaged to Ayla, Thalia’s half-sister.

And as despair consumes her, Thalia begins to slowly break apart.

But then—

The love that was destined to end in death takes an unexpected turn.

I didn't realize so many ppl disliked WMMAP. I personally loved it and am excited to see more of Spoon's beautiful artwork.

8

u/Electronic_Durian748 Apr 29 '26

All y’all hating on this Manwha before it even came out need to stfu, just bc you don’t like utot doesn’t mean that everything written by Suji Kim is bad. No one is forcing you to read it. It’s not that’s big of a deal.

P.S
Utot is not even bad, y’all read like 10 chapters and drop it before giving it a chance. If you actually did give it a chance you would see awesome character development, story line, and more.

3

u/Rajbit Apr 30 '26

This is my first time seeing Under the Oak Tree being referred as UTOT, while utot means fart in my language ☠️☠️

3

u/Fantastic-Skill8902 Apr 29 '26

It is a canon event for every rofan and childcare artist to adapt angst novels

3

u/meowychan25 Apr 29 '26

I’ll check this out just for the sake of the art

5

u/emurii Apr 29 '26

I like UtOT, and I've never cared to try WMMAP, so I'll have to try this one...

9

u/spartaxwarrior Apr 29 '26

Under the Oak Tree is sooo repetitive and annoying, even outside of all the questionable choices and rape and shit, I'm kinda scared to look up this novel lmao

2

u/NychuNychu Apr 29 '26

OMG I'm excited for any new work of Spoon! Their art is just so pretty! >u<

2

u/CaribMiko Apr 29 '26

What is WWMAP?

1

u/Elusive_Faye Apr 29 '26

Who made me a princess

3

u/Bluish_Blues_450 Apr 29 '26

spoon do really love blonde hair blue eye MCs

4

u/Optimal_Clerk_153 Apr 29 '26

incest ? they look like siblings

2

u/Example-Material Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

No there not rleated at all. They both have blond hair different shades and blue eyes also different shades.

1

u/FightmeLuigibestgirl Apr 29 '26

That might be the fl’s sister or relative from under the oak tree but I need to research more.

1

u/Huntress08 Apr 29 '26

I've only ever read the manhwa adaption of Twilight Poem (and consensus on that one was negative for a lot of purple who read the novel beforehand).

Since this one is going to be set in the same universe as Under the Oak Tree, I wonder if background knowledge of that series would be needed?

1

u/instacolors Mod Apr 29 '26

Readers from NU mentioned that you can enjoy the series without background knowledge of UTOT.

1

u/Ghirs Apr 29 '26

I love WMMAP but I am wary of the new author's previous stories. I couldn't keep reading UTOT, and if The Forgotten Field is similar, then it'll just be misery. I'll give it a try, but oh boy

Love Spoon's art though

1

u/nottakentaken Apr 30 '26

What is wwwlmap

1

u/instacolors Mod Apr 30 '26

It’s a typo, supposed to be WMMAP. It’s the abbreviation of “Who Made Me a Princess.”

1

u/CacCactus Apr 30 '26

This look toxic, idk why.

1

u/Past_Relief_7231 13d ago

Both so problematic too lol

Me:

u/Fit_Mix_2954 Apr 29 '26

Spoon about to destroy another plot just to give relevancy to her favourite 2nd ML

4

u/Example-Material Apr 30 '26

To be fair she was forced to change the story because the original writer plagerized another work.
