For Aisha fans, the Aisha manhua was put on an indefinite hiatus a month ago because it got too low fan ratings due to slow chapter updates. This really sucks because Aisha is honestly one of the best OIs I've ever read with gorgeous art and a very unique and amazing story.
But the author wants to keep publishing it and is looking for another company that might pick it up so for those that care please go through the manhua on these websites and support it. Scroll through and like the chapters, bookmark the manhua and please if you can buy some chapters. If you haven't heard of it before check it out on these websites and see if you might like it. Here’s a short summary:
The twins who have lost both their mother and father had got their humongous inheritance stolen by their evil stepmother. The three sons of their stepmother have a special relationship towards their non-biological sisters. Thus, a scene of love and hate occurred in this old mansion. This is a dark fairy tale of romance and vengeance.
To anyone who liked the art style there's a similar manhua (different kind of story) that I highly recommend. Name is Yin Shan Meng Tan / Dream Talking in the Hidden Mountain
Bro you have to see the extra of this series. EVERYONE looks like the same (of coursw all handsome lol) but even the author points it out. I think she has a type
Never heard of this, but something about this art is off putting. I think it’s the eyes that look big for how proportional the rest of the face/body is. Kinda rich considering that big eyes are a staple of anime and related stuff, but it looks weird here.
It’s because the rest of the face has such realistic detail/shading, so those weird proportions stand out more. It’s like the live action Alita Battle Angel where they edited in those big bug eyes.
I read somewhere an interview with one of the big anime artists talking about how live action shows based on anime don’t try to make them look like the anime character “because the proportions were never human to begin with”. And it really made me think that if I saw a human being who looked like that it would be frightening. This cover confirms it lol. 😱
hey, dont take it personally. all i meant, labubus are practically the production of online influencer market. so, labubus can be called the internet's invention. something just goes popular for no good reason because ppl want what the other person has. most of the ppl dont see the hype around it, but ppl who are chronically online do go crazy about em. so you saying you saw a labubu randomly, just felt like you were online most of the time.
Ok. The phrase might be changing. To me and my circle touch grass is actually pretty serious so I was kinda shocked when you wrote that. I guess these days it’s more mild. And labubus may have come about online, but it’s real world people that are buying it. So the explanation is a little odd. But whatevs
"to me and my circle" exactly, you and your circle of chronically online people pal.
I'm not being nice out here by not minding my own business. But I agree with the other person, comparing a capitalist micro trend to an art style of a struggling artist trying to do what they love (off putting as their art might be) that had their work discontinued (because of the time it takes to make the chapters, probably because of the detailed art might I add) in the long run does feel like it's just more incentive to this situation to keep happening and overall blegh.
Not that you are at fault or responsible, because unfortunately neither me or you can do anything about a whole sector of economy, It's just that you are chronically online (like every other redditor), and seeing you both be passive aggressive with each other while trying to pretend to make peace is annoying as fuck and guess what? The Internet is not that big of a deal so I can argue with strangers like you online.
i didnt meant it in a serious way. i get that real ppl are buying it and i never denied it but you seeing labubus randomly felt like you were online for a long time, thats it. again, didnt meant to offend you. touching grass is a pretty common joke, but okay.
No worries no worries. I didn’t mean anything by my comment. Nothing negative. How odd, we’re both speaking plainly but the other sees a negative aspect in our comments. I’m not looking for a fight. Have a good day.
hmm, I like it when things look unsettling. The comic itself is black and white and the characters look more natural. It is only the cover that looks like that.
I think it's the large eyes plus the too small gap between them. The gap between the eyes should be the width of one eye to be proportional, anything less can have an interesting effect on the face.
I do think it's supposed to be unsettling though, so the artist definitely got the vibe right. Reminds me of the Big Eye paintings by Margaret Keane.
It also has that "copying photo-bashed reference too exactly" look where the shadows either don't match, or don't exist for elements that are supposed to be overlapping.
A summary for those that haven't heard of it before:
The twins who have lost both their mother and father had got their humongous inheritance stolen by their evil stepmother. The three sons of their stepmother have a special relationship towards their non-biological sisters. Thus, a scene of love and hate occurred in this old mansion. This is a dark fairy tale of romance and vengeance.
I'm probably just being paranoid, but Top right pic looks AI-assisted to me. Like the girl on the right has weird artefacts in her eyes, her hair drawn in two different styles (more realistic on the right and leyendecker-esque on the left, the man behind her is looking...somewhere?, the dress on the girl on the left has parts of embroidery that don't make sense (also her flowercrown has a part that can't decide if it's a thorn or a leaf)
For me it's giving sims ultra modded and traced somehow to make it look like a drawing, especially the bottom left picture. It's giving uncanny valley and it creeps me out
I don't remember what the case is with this specific scene, but Aisha is a black and white manhua. again, it's been a while since I read this chapter (the coming of age party) but I remember it being in black and white too. so, MAYBE, the problem wasn't in the original work, but rather when someone tried to colorize this scene. maybe they asked an AI to colorize it, and it ended up with these strange traces? I don't know.
The creator has even shared the steps of coloring and drawing their designs and had this art style even before having access to AI. The original image was black and white, and the person probably used quality-enhancing apps to improve the photo, which make the image look strange. Since the original work is black and white, sometimes it’s hard to understand the design and colors.
I'm surprised no one pointed out that those are two different characters (they're twin sisters) but all the characters are drawn in a near hyper-realism.
But no, Aisha is a rerun of one of the artist's older stories and this is just their art style. The AI 'issues' that you see I just don't. I think you can't process the drawings well.
From plot to art everything was just perfect about this series. If only they released chapters regularly it would've been one of the most popular comics of all time
i dropped this because I couldn't handle it. It was too much for me to know what happened to Aida and how she was coping. It'd hurt my heart seeing her like that but knowing it was discontinued makes me sad. I hope the author finds a company that supports their publishing time since it takes a lot of time to draw so realistic such as their artstyle
I don't get it. I'm pretty shure I've been reading this story back in 2016, and at the time(or +/- 1-2 years later) it was already completed.
I remember reading ending.
Is this another take on the story?
Though I'm pretty shure art style was almost the same when I was reading this, even if they kept one of the twins secret for plot twist reasons.
Is this not a 'gothic style' horror story anymore?
Aweeee nooooo :( it was so realistic and oddly refreshing from the cookie cutter glittery teenager self insert type OI these days😞😞😞 I hope it gets an ending, even if rushed
Huuu, I genuinely wish it continues, I've read countless stories all my life and forgot most of them. But this one in particular etched it's way into me. Everything speaks to me. Hoping to get updates soon, I don't really mind how long it'll take, doesn't even matter to me if it takes a whole decade for a chapter to publish, as long as it continues.
There was a shorter version of it that was finished yes. But this is a different one where it’s the same characters but the story goes differently and it’s much longer! :)
Ah! I felt the short version was a nice complete story but I’m sad I missed the chance to see the other version. I would still recommend the second version though to anyone who’s interested!
NO!!! This is actually so depressing!! The story is so fucking good :( I know the art here looks horrifyingly awful but i PROMISE this is the best case of “don’t judge a book by its cover” that I’ve ever seen
Damn, what a shame...I haven't been keeping up with the series lately cause of the slow updates, but I really loved the earlier chapters (the later ones are also nice, but personally, I preferred the story when the chars were little kids.)
Hopefully the author can find another company, would be a shame for it to end preemptively. Sidenote, I've always thought this series would be perfect for a live action adaptation...Finn Wolfhard pre hair shaving would have made a great Sein 😂
As someone who is really into this manhwa and has even read it myself several times, I can honestly say that Chinese users are so indifferent to what we international users are interested in, how can they ignore such a good manhwa? This manhwa is one of the most beautiful manhwas I have read.
I really wish the author could collaborate with a company because it has been a long time since we heard about this manhwa and we are really looking forward to it.
I have been following the manhua Aisha for YEARS and I return to it every October of a new year so I can enjoy the chapters that were released all together, I wasn't aware of this and it saddens me because it's super underrated, I hope it has a comeback, even if it takes years😭😭( I am a Nana a fan I can be patient) thank you for informing, this manhua barely has any news due to it being originally Chinese
Aisha isn't an Isekai or age reversal though? I don't see how it's an Isekai. But I really really love this comic and I really hope it doesn't get discontinued.
I do remember seeing RE but I don't think I saw cry or better yet beg on this sub, not saying it doesn't exist, I just never saw it. That being said, non isekai should be labeled as non Isekai.
