Curious as to how OU credits are recognised when transferring to a brick university

Hello all. I am strongly considering studying mathematics and statistics with OU beginning in October. I will be travelling a lot for work so the online study is ideal. I would like to then (if possible) transfer to a brick university in Ireland , and would be hopeful that I would be able to go into year two of a given study , (obviously one with significant overlap). I am Irish and achieved good results in my leaving cert a few years ago , and as a 23 year old am looking for a little more security I guess. I would really appreciate anyone with experience /advice on the matter to divulge their thoughts on the matter .

depends alot on the uni, you would have to ask them.

technically, a certHE from the OU is considered equivalent to a certHE from anywhere.... BUT... alot of unis might ask you to resit first year, especially if its for a more anal subject like mathematics.

you can see Edin uni as an example:

Unrelated, but this should be enough to prove to anyone how well regarded the OU is. Edinburgh is one of the best universities in the world!

Hey dude I literally planned the same thing. Studying Math and Stats and then transferring to a brick uni into year two (hopefully). As far as I have understood from reading other reddit posts, it’s highly dependent on the university you want to transfer to. If you have specific Universities in mind your best bet is reaching out to them and see what they say.
