WHY IS IT WHEN I ACCEPT MY OFFERS EVERYONE IS TELLING ME I MADE THE WRONG DECISION????????????? ISTG IF I ACCEPTED MAC OR UTSC STATS EVERYONE WOULDVE TOLD ME OTHERWISE. u can't direct transfer from utm cs to utsg cs like u probably know, u'll have to transfer to the general mathematical and physical sciences stream and compete for utsg cs from out of stream like everyone else.

If you have utm cs, then don't bother for utsg cs honestly. You are wasting your chance at having guaranteed cs education by playing a gambit. What resources do u mean utsg has that utm doesn't have? It's not like cs students at utm can't get jobs and stuff. UTSG doesn't have a good co-op program, it doesn't even have one (it's just ASIP, which does help you with internships but is not the same as a really good co-op program from what i've heard) so you still have to apply for internships by yourself as well.

Your grades matter primarily when you're getting ur first internship or job but what matters most is stuff like projects, out of school work like research and etc.

It’s your choice ofc, I also wanted to get to ustg so badly, before realized that UTM is better for my program. Don’t be so sceptical about UTM, at the end of the day you get the same degree and also if you like USTG you can always take some courses there.

You can still take classes at USTG even as UTM student. I don’t really understand where you took that info about better ROP opportunities. Don’t forever that there are more people and for every spot that you are looking at will be more competition. From what I see right know, you just want total go to USTG for its reputation of being the main campus 🤷‍♀️ no offence

I’ve asked around man, ROP for CS is better at UTSG, UTSG students get priority to upper year CS courses, clubs are also there so I can live there and not have to commute as much

Personally, I wouldn’t bank on the goal to transfer, pick a uni that you KNOW you will be happy going to even without the possibility of transfer. I accepted Mac so I’m biased but CHOOSE MCMASTER!

As someone who knows people who go to UTM and I go to UTSG, UTM has the better social life trust. Smaller community and if you go to frosh you’re set

UTSG does have better resources and connections though. Also more diversity with programs and majors compared to UTM

If you’re doing UTM, you have to consider your 407 bills! $50 one way from Kennedy to Mississauga Road. If you have classes 4x a week, that’s $400 a week, gas not included!

i mean like, it's not a bad choice. you get the same "University of Toronto" degree regardless of what campus you went to, and typically people don't say "University of Toronto - MISSISSAUGA" on their Linkedin. Plus, I do know of a few people who've transferred between campuses after first year. UTM may not be Waterloo or UTSG, but it's still a better school than most

That said, it sounds a lot like OP doesn't know what they want to do really

Please do not write in all capitals. If you live in the Mississauga or Oakville area then UTM is gorgeous and well-organized campus. I went there. Accomplished an Hon.BSc degree - specialist degree in anthropology in addition to a major in Environmental Management. The coursework and labs for every one of the programs is going to keep you busy. The professors are helpful. You will likely only have time for the athletic centre and the pool/hot-water pool twice a week if you (want to) swim, and maybe a sport once a week. If you’re smart then maybe one social club. I do not recommend a part-time job.

Utm is a good school but stats/cs is argubaly hard and you will struggle. That being said, if you can change your decision and the commute there is better i would encourage mac probably. as much as i love utm ur gpa in cs will be cooked here if ur not a top student
