My therapist* does emdr. It creates a positive pathway where there are constant negative thoughts. It's getting more and more common. Think of goals you want to achieve otherwise therapy feels aimless. Just talking is not going to do anything. Best wishes. *She has a wait list.

Psychology today has or had a pretty decent therapist finder where you could search by keywords, insurance, and zip code. There are some very excellent therapists in this state. I’ve been very impressed by the ones I’ve worked with who went through the UNCG / A&T program
