Need Advice braid out tips
hello everyone! i'm new to doing protective styles myself - used to get braids with extensions but due to a scalp condition I cannot, currently get silk presses but moving so may not be able to find time/a stylist - and am doing my first braid out.
i washed my hair with camille rose guava slip shampoo and conditioner, followed by the same line of leave in conditioner. i detangled with a tangle teezer (I'm hooked!) and then slathered my hair in miss jessies curly pudding (the purple one) and then followed with sunt jackie's flaxseed don't shrink gel before braiding. i used the tangle teezer to distribute the product through each section as well.
are these good products? does anyone have other recommendations in a similar price point? do i need to use cream and gel, or just cream, or just gel? should i maybe use different products for my different textures?
my hair is only slightly wavy in the front and coily in the back so trying a braid out to match textures (curled my front ends with perm rods) i found with both products my hair was almost too slippery to handle. not sure if this means i used too much product or if this is how it's supposed to feel?
tldr: first time doing a braid out and looking for product recommendations and technique recommendations. sorry for the long post!

personally i hate gel for braidouts. mousse is the way to go. if you want to help with the texture difference, you might want to blowdry before braiding.
try out the doux crazy sexy curl mousse. you dont need much.

hi, do you have any pictures of your hair? there aren't many products out there that are "bad" it's just about finding which products your own hair likes! just like using whatever brand of soap you want but being just as clean as someone else
