Ombré/Gradient In need of help

Post image

I’m try to get a good blue gradient but nothing seems to work. I soaked the sponge in alcohol, used pat gel which wiped off immediately after 60 secs under uv

I usually just paint the base as one of the colors I want, cure, then lightly pat with sponge (extremely tiny amount) with another and cure again, if there is a third color I want I just keep doing that while very lightly building on it, in the end once you apply top coat it smooths the whole thing over visually

I don’t think you need to soak the sponge in alcohol? That’s what I use to remove uncured gel from stuff.

Make sure the nail is buffed enough to allow the gel to be able to stick to it.

It’s possible that isn’t pat gel and is just pots of gel colour. I had the same issue with one of the palettes I bought, and it looks like the same consistency as mine that didn’t work.

It's pat gel. I got the same one

I just went through this struggle! I found a combo of a sponge and using a nail art brush worked really well to make the gradient seamless. It takes a while but the key for me was lots of layering of small amount of paint.

I would add a little color, blend it as best I can, put it under UV for ten seconds, and repeat until satisfied. It helped from having the sponge soak up everything or having the polish move

I have given up on trying to use gels for gradient designs. Pigment powder has been a game changer for me.
