The refs failed us this game.

So how many weeks for the Eels players?

Koroisau got 3 weeks so maybe 1 or 2. Right? NRL have got this. Surely. Fuck.

Its great to see your optimism back u/Tunza, but ive been checking repeatedly, there is nothing to assuage our loss. ..

Nope - our season has been pretty much ended by a hip-drop tackle.

6 games if it's the 8 weeks, but its the 8 weeks of most of the origin period and we would lose him from a couple anyway, but yes it could put us into that just making up the numbers 6 to 12 position. But did you see the gf yesterday mate, looking through team there is a big  Zammit effect. Plus well  Zaro Corbone and Miller from our area stood out to me. What did you think?

Fucking wank from shitty hip drops that weren't even given penalties

Barber centre 😬 ?

With our line up, Dearden is irreplaceable - this is going to be horrible.

Going outside for a walk, I may be some time.

Dearden suffered a syndesmosis injury

will have surgery next week and is set for a 6-8 week recovery period.

Soni Luke is also set for a month on the sidelines after scans revealed he sustained a high-grade MCL tear.

Jacko has won a game in the halves with Cliffo last year, so there is an upside. Boy though we are going to miss Tom's  organisation. Kerrisk will have to get a run with origin coming up but if we weren't going to lose Cotter, he would have been my pick for when Mahoney goes on tilt every now and then or needs a breather. Rubes can really play hooker. Unbelievable that addo carr wasn't charged, dropped his weight and lifted his legs before letting go and landing on tom's legs. The match review committee is a cluster fuck as usual.

I rather Drinkwater at 6 or 7 over fucking Purdue and put Mason at fullback

3

u/kinglennie7 23d ago

Drink water doesn't know how to tackle mate

2

u/SituationSmooth9165 23d ago

Neither does Purdue

3

u/kinglennie7 23d ago

Definitely moreso than drink

2

u/SituationSmooth9165 23d ago

A lot easier to tackle in a defensive line than at fullback

u/kinglennie7 23d ago

You must've blocked out the drinkwater defensive highlights from his time in the halves. He's scared of contact at fb, how do you think he'd fair in the defensive line?

u/SituationSmooth9165 23d ago

Did you miss all of Purdues missed tackles on the weekend

1

u/kinglennie7 23d ago

Nope I'm agreeing he's not great defensively, but he's a lot better than drinkwater

Laybutt to centre, Muzz  if he's ok come back in , if he's not then Barber to centre and Buttsy stays on the wing. It's that or Jaxson Paulo( who has been in good nick). Hegerdon has been going good but as a whole the pride look they are running on beach sand.

Honestly how on earth did they just leave him out there for 15 minutes. I don't care if the game was on the line, you don't leave your best player and one of only two halves running on a clear injury for 15 minutes and risk further injury. How they didn't pull him off and just play with 12 men for last part of the game is beyond me. Who cares if it causes one loss if we could get him back 3 weeks earlier

I get not bringing him off initially when Tommy said he was going to try run it off but yea even when we had run out of interchanges I think defending with 12 would've been better than leaving him out there.

I want Payten fired, out of a cannon, onto palm island, with nothing but a map of how to get back to Sydney.

2

u/theeffluentfew 22d ago

Im pretty sure we used all our interchanges. So as captain he probably stayed out, he still did his job. So it was play with 12 or 12 and a half so to speak. The wrong call was to exhaust the interchange but we have already apparently decided to to go after the game with the interchange by 60 minutes.  Soni's injury burns 1 anyway  so its a fair bit of bad luck.

Play with 12, and get him on ice and to the doctor asap.....or leave him on and play with 12 and a quarter to try and win a non important game and risk further injury.

The guy could barely jog he was not able to do his job....

See you next year fellas.....sigh

Guess Purdue to halves again. Pretty much scuttles our season sadly.

Laybutt left centre either Derby or Barber left wing

Who do we even have to play number 7?

I think Clifford will go to halfback, Purdue will go to five-eighth, and Vailea will probably get called up to replace Purdue in the centres.

Season finished. Can’t see us winning with any combination over the next 8 weeks. This will definitely ensure that Payten gets booted. Should’ve taken him off, no way you put your best player in a game where realistically we had no right to win.

Payten killed our season and just hurt QLD as a whole by being a bad coach.
