I’ve found references to this Saturday Night Live sketch which I don’t think I have to explain any further here. Apparently it’s called “Classroom”. Does anyone have a link to the full sketch or more info on it, please?

Fashion show

Anyone else watch the end of that episode over and over. I really took Angela’s words to heart. The Enigma song , whenever I hear it, reminds me of that.

Freaks and Geeks & MSCL mashup Dream

I just woke from a dream and this is the only place I can go where people will understand.
In my dream Lindsay was Angela’s teacher!? Made think it’d be a cool mashup.
Lindsay would be 19 years older than Angela!
Any ideas or thoughts!?

Liberty High School reunion

It's 30 years later and the main characters have not seen much of each other. They all decide independently to be in town for their 30th reunion.

Where have they been? What have they been doing? And what is the plot of the reunion mini-series?

I'll start:

Brian Krakow went to Harvard in a free ride, but eventually crumbled under the pressures of parental expectation and lack of affection. He mostly stays in his room, writing dystopian poetry and contemplating the mismatched wallpaper seam, blaming it for ruining his life.

He is watching out the window as Angela returns home for the reunion, greeted lovingly by Patty and Grant... who left his much-younger third wife home at his apartment in town. There's a voice-over of Brian reading the letter. He flashes back to watching her walk away with Jordan Catalano, throwing him a look over her shoulder as she realizes that he, Brian, wrote that letter... and meant it.

Your turn.

Angela was my root

At 14 or 15 years old Angela was "my root" (to steal a kind of jokey term from the movie But I'm a Cheerleader). Her trembling chin when she was crying or about to cry filled me with weird feelings...like, I wanted to hug and comfort her...but also kiss her?? That was the first time I felt attracted to another girl. it made me realize I was bi. (I don't identify as a woman now but that's neither here nor there)

Over the years I have rewatched the series several times. I used to hate Patty so much and think Graham was a cool dad when i was a teen. Now, in my 40s, I still don't think Patty made the right decisions nor said the right things a lot of times, but I find her much more relatable/sympathizable. Additionally I feel more and more anger and annoyance towards Graham. My heart breaks for Rayanne and Ricki more than ever before. And I still think the joke of Tino never being present is one of the funniest things in a show ever.

My feelings towards Angela's character have also changed. She says so many things that now I find very privileged, misguided, insensitive, insecure and weird. But looking at her now has allowed me to face and heal the very damaged and broken parts of my inner child that related to her and was attracted to her when I was similar in age to her character.

This show means so much to me. it occupied a very important spot in my brain and my heart at the time. Despite certain aspects of it being dated I feel like it still holds up really well now, and I hope new folks find it and watch it for the first time.

Timeless and relatable

This is my very first time watching the show and, honestly, a lot of the issues presented there feel somewhat tangible even for me as a gen z! That is, talking about my teen years of course. I’m still on the first episodes so I guess there’s still a lot to happen

I see this show seems to be more popular among gen x, so I was wondering, if you’re from that generation, did you feel represented by that show in a certain way? Was it helpful or healing for you, in a certain sense? I’m really curious to know since I wasn’t there in the 90s (I was born in 2000)

If ‘Frozen Embryos’ was a real band and they stayed together and Tino never left in a rage, would you listen?

Personally, I so would.

Would also love for Rayanne to feature on a song

Based on an Israeli series title The Best Worst ThingLovesick is described as a “sweeping, modern romantic epic.” Danes (who also executive produces) will play Annika, “a renowned breast cancer surgeon, has just received her own cancer diagnosis,” per the show’s logline. “Her new patient, Nate, is a promising politician. The series explores their interwoven lives, delving into themes of love, sex, illness, death, family, children, health, medicine, and the meaning of life — all while Annika is simultaneously undergoing breast cancer treatment.”

Admission about Patty

I really thought she was an amazing lady on the show. By far my favorite character (well, for the adults). Anyone else a fan of Patty? Who was your favorite adult. I miss this being on MTV for 24 hours at a time.

So, my boyfriend is a huge dancer/music guy. He asked me to play the ultimate love song. I put on Buffalo Tom “Late at Night” and we slow danced under the stars. My inner Angela just had all her dreams come true.

Graham/Jordan?

I rewatched it not too long ago and for some reason it hit me how Jordan actually looks like a young Graham! Sorry for the crappy attempt at collage. Tech isn’t my thing, lol.

Anyone else think so?

My So-Called Life (TV Series 1994–1995) with Claire Danes – The series without an ending that marked the 90s; Do you remember?!

A masterpiece that transcends clichés. A sensitive, realistic, and profoundly human series that shows complex characters, full of convictions, fears, and dreams — totally authentic. Angela\, Patty, Rickie, and Jordan are not just characters, they are reflections of our own emotions and doubts. Each episode reveals a new layer, a new interpretation, depending on where we are in life.*

If you haven't watched it yet, go see it. And those who already know it, know: it deserves to be revisited always. Because, deep down, this series is more than a story; it's an experience of humanity.

The most exciting teen series you've ever seen in all your years of TV watching. If you like Skins, Sex Education, and Euphoria, be thankful that this wonderful work exists!

*Claire Danes (of Homeland, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, etc) delivers a heartwarming performance, and the series invites us to see adolescence — and life — with more empathy and depth.

Funniest lines/scenes?

For me one scene makes me like hyperventilate laugh every single time like no other. I don’t know why it’s just the way it’s delivered I guess, when Angela signs Jordan up for tutoring and they’re seeing who is assigned to him and he goes “…. Brain kraykow..?” As Brian walks up behind them and Jordan looks at him frowning and puzzled asks “are you…. Brain….?” I’m re-watching for zillionth time and I just passed that scene. It gets me every single time.
