When i dived into this anime i presumed Kiyoka to be the typical cold hearted, super powerful bad boy and i couldn't have beeen more wrong.

Kiyoka is the most kind, empathetic and emotionally intelligent person ever. Not just a good partner but overall a good human being.

He's protective without taking pride in it, loves without possession and deeply respectful and kind.

I have been binge watching Kiyoka x Miyo clips on yt since yesterday, can't stop (help🙃).

Okay so I'm curious if anyone in this fandom does "ships". I understand that everyone ships the main couple: Miyo and Kiyoka. However, imagine in an alternate universe they don't get together. Without thinking too deeply on how that ship would work with Miyo and Kiyoka not together; Whats your favourite non-canon ship? (It can be heterosexual or homosexual.)

I'm probably going to get attacked for this one but mines Kiyoka x Arata but purley only the novel versions not the anime versions. I adore the enemies to lovers trope.

Guys, I’m sorry but I’m getting really frustrated with how this sub has just become people posting a ton of fanfictions. This has nothing to do with anyone’s writing, it’s just not what Reddit is for. I am totally fine with people posting a link to their fanfiction, maybe it could all be linked under a single post. I even enjoy reading fanfiction, it’s not what I come to this sub for. Fanfiction has its own platform, which is set up much better for it. For example, stories can be organized by chapters. I don’t enjoy having to scroll past four or five separate posts for a single story to get to a post about sometimes be discussing a recent episode, or one of the light novels. I love that the show is getting more love and appreciation, but sub is getting less enjoyable imo.

Right, season 1 I enjoyed the Cinderella kind of story with a twist. Season 2, she is to be the strongest Usuba with dream-sight but she just cried all the time and didn’t even fight Usui, so what was the point of having the powers- Thoughts!!!

I am very impatient and refuse to wait for weekly episodes. So I waited 4 months to binge, Lol the irony. I hope it was worth the wait.

So Netflix is only releasing one episode at a time. I thought I was gonna be able to binge today 😭

EDIT: I am aware that it happened with season 1 now. I didn’t watch season 1 when it first came out. All of the episodes were out, so I was able to binge.

I loved the first season of the show and I knew going into the second season it was going to be completely different since the stakes have now completely changed and the dynamic of an abused girl being saved and learning to heal from her trauma is no longer as present. I initially thought the season started off good but then I struggled really hard to finish the season, I liked the interactions between Kudou family, Miyo becoming friends Kaoruko as well as the main relationship grow. However overall I was also annoyed at the villain of this season, I never read the novel but sometimes in this season I hated how helpless Miyo was at times while other times willing to be in the front lines, maybe I enjoyed the more slice of life aspects to the show with stakes in between, in contrast to this season where it has small elements of slice of life but there’s this constant presence of a bad guy and group, honestly I’m struggling to remember what happened this season. But the first season was so clear to me, maybe too much was going on this season and too much of everything but also nothing for me ? I’m very sorry to the fans but I just couldn’t get it should I rewatch it ?

I was rewatching the first few episodes of the anime and realized that the way kiyoka treated miyo initially is sad and irritating. But in like a decade it will be a funny story of the past to tell their kids if they’re eventually introduced to the series.

I see either miyo or hazuki telling miyokas kids about how their parents relationship was in the beginning. Miyo now laughing at the memories, with hazuki adding drama (cause that’s her personality).

The kids are like: “WHY DID YOU TREAT MAMA SO BADLY PAPA?!? DONT YOU LOVE MAMAS COOKING??!” Tears in their eyes for dramatics.

Kiyoka: all pouty while looking away and blushing. “Did you have to tell them that story…?”

Hazuki: “Come now kiyoka. We all know you treasure her now, but you have to admit that what we told them isn’t a lie.”She has her serious big sister face on, while she says it in a teasing tone 😂🤣

Miyos just comforting adorable kiyoka like usual and says. “I forgave you a long time ago.”

Kiyokas still pouting while hazukis with the kids smiling.

Y’all, the miyoka brain rot is real and I have no regrets.

I’m watching the last episode of the Netflix’s show and I just don’t like what they are doing with it. The fact that some narrative from the characters is changed doesn’t sit well with me. It’s these little details that make it difficult to me to really enjoyed the show. And when we enter in discussions with people that only watch the show and didn’t read the story, there are some biases that emerge from one to another. What do y’all think?

So I know the first thing I did when I caught up with the My Happy Marriage series is search for similar anime/mangas... And I see so many posts asking for recommendations too.

Well folks, I finally found a manhwa series that is similar enough that it has scratched the itch I had... At least for a while!

May I present to you: My Unexpected Marriage

Without spoilers, here's what you can expect: - Female lead with a similar background to Miyo (her personality is in some ways a bit different, but I still really liked the character!) - Male lead who often gives me similar vibes to Kiyoka (again, he has his own distinct personality, but I love the chemistry between the ML and FL) - although the setting is more European historical nobility-inspired, it's still an arranged marriage trope with some fantasy/magical elements

I don't want to give too much more away, but it's a very sweet shoujo series that I think you should check out.
