RWBY is a Western indie animation series with heavy anime influences. It has a predominately female cast, but in the first few seasons especially the attention is very heavily focused on the blond haired blue eyed audience insert who is also male. I love RWBY, but they didn't do a very good job with balancing out character development in my opinion.
