PPS - Public Service Pension Applicant Form

Hi everyone,
I’m relocating early September for a job in a public service body. I need to fill in a form for the Public Service Pension, but I need to write my PPS on it.
However, I understood that I cannot apply for a PPS number before actually moving in Ireland. Do you think it would be ok to leave the field blank for now?
Thanks !

You're taking up a job in the public service yes?

Then speak to HR and get guidance because you need to get the pps anyway and you won't be making pension contributions until you're being paid, which you also need the pps for

(The way it was phrased kinda made me think you were applying for the pension itself, you'd already have a pps number in that case as you'd have been contributing already. So had to check)

Okay thx! Then I will do that. Hopefully public body HR know my case.

Even if they don't know you specifically, they'll have been asked questions before.
