Election 2026 Anti-Riley Neill ads
Anyone seeing these ads saying she's an extremist Kamala supporter (GASP!) supporting Medicare for All (don't threaten me with a good time!)? No mention of other candidates, seems they're just trying to soften support. Any guesses or intel on who's behind these?
ETA: I guess what I'm asking is which other candidate(s) would benefit from softening Neill's support, and why does this group care about the other candidate(s)?

Pretty sure the PAC doing these is associated with Daines, and the pro Alme ones, too.
The betting apps have her at 90% chance of winning the primary, and I’m betting their polling says something similar, so they’re getting a head start on their general election opponent.
It’s the same generic crap they use against every democrat, down ballot, too. I don’t think there’s much to it beyond that.

u/ProfessorChaos406 May 01 '26
Thank you! Guess they have enough money to go after her even pre-primary.

You gotta squash these candidates that care about working people quick!!

u/Tacolab May 01 '26
She really doesn't though and despises healthcare worker in particular,
2
u/OldTimberWolf May 01 '26
without reference/background/explanation this rings hollow... what is your reasoning for saying she despises healthcare workers?

Copied from another reply I gave on this thread:
"Yeah, she was lying about the unmasked medical workers and was escorted out of a hospital while trying to film inside, really pushing HIPAA and every other privacy rule, as well as the CDC rules for patients only in the facility at the time.
She videoed a nurse with no mask, who was in an empty auditorium setting up for a kids event, after working 80 hours covering others shifts. She had been having breathing issues and had been checked multiple times for covid and was negative. Reilly filmed her secretly from outside the auditorium and when spotted started screaming at the top of her lungs about the lack of mask. The nurse died of the cancer that was causing the breathing issues. She lied about the entire situation and pulled the post from Twitter when questioned about it.
Reilly was mad that she wasn't push up on the vaccine list, above the elderly and others that were sick.
She has spent her time prior to the campaign acting and sounding like the Cheeto King POTUS. She is a terrible neighbor and person".
She also repeatedly attacked local providers and staff during COVID, it was unhinged.

Can you provide evidence of any of that?
So far you’ve said she took pictures of an unmasked nurse with what looked like COVID symptoms (but said she tested negative) at the height of the COVID scare setting up a display that was about to be used by a bunch of kids. She took the supposed photos while she was working for a newspaper.
People were sanitizing their mail back then. Most everyone was freaking out about masks. A healthcare worker of all people should have been wearing a mask while setting up stuff to be used by kids, especially if she was short of breath and testing for COVID due to showing symptoms.
I’m happy with any of the main 3 Dems running, but I assume it’s going to be Neill at this point and I’m cool with that. If that’s the case, I hope Alani and Michael stay involved and run for something in 2 years.

She was "reporting" on her twitter feed. When not running she spends her time on social media acting like DJT. No, I don't have the proof, because Twitter removed it as she was doxing someone.
I know you are cool with Neill and have displayed that with previous posts. Her hometown, the party and most who have had to interact with her when she isn't campaigning want nothing to do with her.
Edit: She was attempting to take pictures in Gotcha moments completely out of context. During a period when healthcare workers were at their wits end working ridiculous hours to cover shifts and risking themselves with inadequate PPE.

“The Party” not supporting her is a plus in my book. The party has done nothing but sell out progressives and lose for the last decade. We need candidates in all of the races who don’t tow the party line. I think we’re lucky in the first district congressional races to have multiple choices who still have a shot.
And any of the candidates in that Senate race are better than Bodnar and Alme.

u/Tacolab May 01 '26
I could give two shakes of a lambs tail who the party supports, nobody supports her. Her traveling roadshow is sad, filled with pictures of her talking AT people, who are just trying to eat their lunch and her giving the rundown in front of city county complex buildings by herself. She isn't progressive, just loud.

Just cookie cutter bullshit attack ad. Other than her photo and name they say the same things about every democrat.

To date, I’ve gotten 8 political mailers, one for a local dem and 7 for reds.

Sigh, I live in a part of MT that's so red I'm not even targeted by these ads. I get the ones accusing Llew Freaking Jones of being too liberal.

Also look into the GOP Snow fortune, which is what Reilly married into. She's not the populist she paints herself to be (her father underwrote her so-called publishing career as well). Also you might want to search on her history of harassing people online.
These GOP talking points are wrong, but she's a bad candidate, was a terrible state legislator, and does not have the temperament for leadership.

I’ve met her many times. She is many things, but an extremist isn’t one of them. She is probably the most normal person in the race.

Would think at this point its the Bodnar people; Alme camp likely not concerned about her at this point. Hope would be to give her usual “eastern liberal comes to Mt.” stamp, turn off potential center-right support and make her supporters too demoralized to carry through to November.
Not well thought out, but then the whole Bodnar experience of buying up Evan McMullen’s used campaign notes has little to do with thinking things out. This bizarre coalition unites Jon Tester’s “Hulk mad and want to smash things” current mood with the naivety of the current UM Main Hall occupants that the state is simply a larger continuation of the campus. Unlikely to succeed - its success is contingent on telling people that they should abandon a lifetime of principles to indulge the whim of a regional temporary big shot, and those folks are likely to be sufficiently enraged that they will happily ride out a headfirst locomotive crash.

I keep getting ads for Steve LaPrain? And the guy narrating the ad has a southern accent 😳 … I don’t know about any of you here, but I sound half Canadian half Valley girl, nowhere near southern lmao

I think the Republicans want her to win the primary. They are playing games. If the GOP wants her to win that should tell us something.

Sheehy's PAC, "more jobs less government", is running ads against Reilly and for someone else. I do not think Republicans want her to win the primary. Not sure what they are thinking, but pretty sure it's sneaky.

u/phdoofus May 01 '26
Generally political ads have to identify a sponsor. Start there.
4
u/ProfessorChaos406 May 01 '26
There is a name that sounds like all the other PAC/ dark money orgs. They won't have transparency, by their nature. I guess what I'm asking is which other candidate(s) would benefit from softening Neill's support, and why does this group care about the other candidate(s)?
3
u/shfiven May 01 '26
I'm sure it's a Republican group. They probably think it's better to knock her out and have another candidate fighting with Bodnar over votes.

u/phdoofus May 01 '26
Anyone running against her. I mean, really, I don't know what you're expecting if can't at least provide more info.
5
u/ProfessorChaos406 May 01 '26
I'm asking if anyone has more info or theories beyond what searching the web would do. Researching the group is unlikely to be informative, as they play shell games to hide who is behind ads like this.

u/Sidneyreb May 01 '26
I don't want to be starting anything but... Neill is a Democrat and a woman running for office in Red Montana. She scares the Old Party to death.
Ads against Democrats are still trying to imply that Dems are going to turn your kids gay with books and give your children gender reassignment surgery instead of recess. And it will work...again.

u/Tacolab May 01 '26
She scares nobody, the GOP would love for her to be the candidate. They will dip back into her Doxing Healthcare workers and her other social media meltdowns. Prob mention that she had particular issue with showing up for work last time she was elected to public office.

I asked her about this. She was caring for a young child at the time, even bringing him to work, and Schweitzer is giving her credit for leading on rewriting Montana’s water laws while she was in office. Your healthcare claim coincides with her reporting on anti-masker medical workers during the height of COVID for her newspaper.
You dive into every conversation about her to attack her and said you “hate” her. If you’re not an anonymous troll working for her opponents, you’re obsessed.

u/Sudden_Skill_7764 May 01 '26
She WENT ON VACATION and left the rest of us in Livingston to canvass door to door for her while running. She was the laziest rep we'd ever had. She shamelessly used her child as an excuse, when she was already partnered to someone of enormous wealth. She was such a terrible rep that Debra Lamm beat her. It took a full cycle to win the seat back for Dems. She's a person of very bad character, who has led a million unhinged online campaigns against anyone who disagrees with her online and if you want a Sienma, then yes, vote for Reilly.

u/Practical_Feed_9153 May 01 '26 edited May 02 '26
She took a vacation!?! I had no idea.
It’s cool you’re this passionate about Livingston politics, but someone going on vacation and not making their boyfriend pay for their childcare isn’t enough to convince me that she’s some kind of bogeyman.

u/Sudden_Skill_7764 May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26
A week, or maybe two, before the election. We wanted to keep the seat, so the Livingston Dems canvassed, but I've never forgotten it.
I would love to vote for a progressive, but Riley is not it. There's a reason she has almost zero support here in Livingston, most of which stems from the unhinged personal attacks she's waged on numerous people in the community (including her husband's ex-wife, Laurie Bishop, the hospital, etc). She is not a stable person.

Yes I'm obsessed, I don't want that type of person representing me.
