Employee question (USA) Is McDonalds a difficult place to work if you’re hearing impaired?
Exactly what the title says, I’m 19 and have no prior work experience and it’s difficult getting hired anywhere right now. I’m considering applying to McDonalds but I have terrible hearing (no hearing aids), people give conflicting answers about whether this would be a problem at McDonalds or not.

They might put you by the dishwasher or another role that doesn't require much hearing

Go apply and give it a go.
I'm HOH and get by just fine.
Only you can answer that question.

We had a guy that was hearing impaired. He had hearing aids so he could hear and he worked in kitchen. I know very basic sign language so I signed to him about things but he had a hard time hearing the ovens beep and things, so they put him on dishes and making sandwiches. But he just stopped coming in one day about two weeks after he started- which isn't too abnormal.

If you're not hearing impaired, you will be soon with all those alarms screaming in your ear from every which direction.
