Rant Policy changes (CAN)

I want to know if this is just at my store or if all Canadian employees are going through this right now.

When we first started all the new drinks we were told, the crafted sodas cannot be made with Diet Coke, and we can no longer do any drinks with light or no ice.

Now all of a sudden they are changing the policy again and we’re allowed to do all of these things! So we have to tell customers that the policy has changed back, and we just all look like idiots now.

They’re also making our job more difficult because the POS doesn’t have these options programmed in.

Can Mcdonalds canada please just make up their mind already?

Was similar in the US, guessing they got way to many 1-800 complaints and changed things.

initially it was a no but then supervisors told GM that we can do the creamy strawberry with coke zero or diet coke

edit: the only problem is that it creates a lot of waste since the ABS automatically pours a coke

Agreed. Now we’re typing in the crafted soda as well as promo’ing a Diet Coke. It’s so much waste!

Oh I didn't know that. I had a customer ask me the other day if we could make the creamy strawberry coke with diet coke instead and I said if she asked we probably could. We don't have an abs machine so we gotta add the sprite and coke by hand which takes forever. Also the no ice/light ice we were told that customers weren't allowed ice customizations, but my coworkers and managers would still do it. Then the other day a customer asked for no ice so I told the bdap person. One manager working told the customer that they weren't allowed the no ice and next time they can't do it. Like make up your mind are we letting them do no ice/less ice or not.
