Oddities Let’s address the elephant in the room
Before I begin, let me say I love everybody of all sorts because I know I’m going to ruffle a few feathers. Let’s be fair, still today in a lot of career paths here in Louisiana, it isn’t just about who you know but what you look like. I myself am one of “advantage” but I have a lot of buddies that simply aren’t getting jobs because they don’t match the “aesthetic”. Still we go into a lot of places and there’s no color, everybody looks the same. For instance, my friend went to school to be an esthetician (black girl) and she said in her class there were Black women, Mexican women, and white women, yet only majority of the white women have jobs in dermatologist offices or spas making money. Yet none of the black or Mexican ladies have a job unless they’re doing it from the ground up, despite the fact each of them are starting inexperienced and fresh out of school. Not saying this is the case for every person. Another instance, a bunch of orthodontic and dental offices in my area only have white women working in the offices. Also a bunch of law offices. Like it’s multiple industries here. Now like I stated before, I love everybody but some things are just very apparent and I feel like people don’t talk about this enough. It is about who you know but it’s also about “aesthetic”. Again, I know some feathers will be ruffled but it will not change the truth.
Because some acting like me saying “aesthetic” confusing them, lol 😂. I mean, walking into a store, environment, or place and the only people you see are white. No other color! THEIR AESTHETIC, A CERTAIN LOOK THEY RATHER! And another thing, if you try to attack anything or anybody in this thread just for stating their reality or experience, IM ON YOUR ASS LIKE STINK ON SHIT! Let people vent and keep it moving!

Oddities Mountains in Louisiana?
"While Louisiana is certainly outdoorsy, it's anything but mountainous. That's why a T-shirt found in some Louisiana Sam's Clubs, including the Baton Rouge store off Siegen Lane, has been raising a few eyebrows with its depiction of the famously flat state as a scenic, mountain-filled paradise."

Oddities Finding a job
Is it extremely hard for anybody else to find a job in Louisiana? I’m in Lafayette/new Iberia area and my job search has been excruciatingly hard. Seems like everybody is hiring but nobody is hiring if that makes sense..? I have been feeling like just leaving Louisiana for the past year and a half because I can’t provide for my family here. Not to mention there is nothing to do here. Is it just me??

Oddities Pile of sex toys on roadside near Crowley NSFW
Found just past the bridge headed east out of Crowley. Me and my coworker kicked these 12 into a pile for the pic and then found another 5 as we were walking back to the car. I'm desperate to know the story behind this... how do you lose 17+ sex toys on the side of a highway?? We also found a pair of fuzzy handcuffs against the guardrail about a dozen yards down.
