In the quiet of the night, when most people are sound asleep, have you ever been awakened by some discomfort? These seemingly insignificant symptoms may harbor potentially fatal health risks. Four symptoms that occur during sleep may be early warning signs of high blood lipids. Ignoring them could potentially lead to heart attacks, strokes, or coronary heart disease. Furthermore, high blood lipids are also associated with acute pancreatitis.

 1. Numbness in Hands and Feet: Excessive lipids in the blood can easily cause insufficient blood supply to the peripheral nerves, leading to numbness and tingling in the hands and feet during sleep or upon waking.

Chest Tightness and Shortness of Breath: Long-term high blood lipids can easily lead to plaque formation in blood vessels, obstructing blood circulation and causing myocardial ischemia and hypoxia. This can easily result in a feeling of chest tightness, difficulty breathing, and chest discomfort when lying down.

 4.Frequent leg cramps: Many people think leg cramps are due to calcium deficiency, but cramps can also be caused by high blood lipids. When metabolic waste products such as cholesterol in the blood are abnormally elevated, they are prone to deposit in local muscles, stimulating the muscles and causing nighttime cramps.

 Early stages of abnormal blood lipids often have no obvious symptoms, hence the name "silent killer." If you frequently experience the above symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a fasting blood test (including total cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL cholesterol) to understand your blood lipid status. Try to maintain a low-fat, low-sugar diet, controlling the intake of high-cholesterol foods such as animal organs, fatty meat, and egg yolks, and eating more foods rich in dietary fiber (such as oats). Establish a regular lifestyle, persist in moderate exercise to promote lipid metabolism, and avoid staying up late and prolonged sitting.

 胸悶氣短:長期血脂高,容易在血管內形成斑塊,使血液循環受到阻礙,就會使心臟缺血缺氧,容易在平躺時感到胸口壓抑、呼吸不暢、胸悶不適。

 頭暈目眩:頸動脈或腦血管若存在脂質斑塊,夜間血流緩慢易致腦供血不足,引起頭暈甚至起床時感到昏沉。

 小腿常抽筋:很多人出現抽筋的時候都會想著是不是缺鈣了,但抽筋也可能是血脂偏高了。血液中的膽固醇等代謝廢物異常升高時,容易在局部肌肉沉積,刺激肌肉引發夜間抽筋。

 血脂異常初期往往沒有明顯症狀,因此被稱為「隱形殺手」。若頻繁出現上述症狀,建議前往醫院進行空腹抽血檢查(包含總膽固醇、甘油三酯、低密度脂蛋白等),瞭解自身血脂狀況。飲食盡量做到低脂、低糖飲食,控制動物內臟、肥肉、蛋黃等高膽固醇食物的攝入,多吃富含膳食纖維的食物(如燕麥)。建立規律生活作息,堅持適量運動以促進脂質代謝,避免熬夜和長期久坐。
