Does anyone know when they're planning on updating the placement? They used to update it on Mondays or Tuesdays but not this week. I know that yesterday was when French students got their admission results (Parcoursup) and I heard something about Spain but I'm not sure. I got accepted into a one years Master’s program, but it’s course based and so not quite serious. One year is also not enough to gain enough research and linguistic competences for my discipline. Will it be possible to switch to the research program if professors like me and I show great academic performance?

Quick inquiry: I will study at Leiden University from August and I'm looking for an accommodation in Den Haag/Leiden, so I've been trying to send some contact requests to other students on Roomplaza in order to create a group of 3-4 people and apply for housing together, as I don't mind the idea of sharing a flat and prices seem fair. Hence, two questions:

1) Does anyone have experience with the website? Would you suggest it as a good option?

2) I tried contacting at least 7-8 students in the last couple of days, but still no answer from anyone. I suppose that, if you are on a website that's specifically made to match students and apply for housing together, you WOULD want to answer contact requests. Has this happened to you as well? Should I wait more?

Does Leiden Uni prioritise LExS recipients for student housing? I applied for housing in late-Feb, long before the portal stopped taking applicants. Also coming for a one-year master’s (which is now 2nd on the priority list).

Just trying to adjust my expectations. Of course, if that doesn’t work out, will try other options….

Hi! I’m trying to decide between universities for International Relations and Organisations (IRO) and I’d really appreciate hearing from current or former IRO students at Leiden.

One thing that’s really important to me is continuing to learn languages alongside my degree. I was already studying languages in my home country, and I’d love to either start continue learning and improving those languages or start studying one from scratch.

I got accepted to another university where taking a language course is actually mandatory, so I’m wondering whether that might fit my interests better. On the other hand, I would really like to study in The Hague and I saw Leiden offer language courses through the university. Has anyone here taken any those courses while doing IRO?

I’m very curious about the workload. Is IRO at Leiden demanding enough that adding a language course would be unrealistic? Or is it manageable if you organize your time well? I´ve heard mixed opinions...

I also applied for the International Studies because of the strong language-learning component but I think IRO might actually be a better fit for me overall academically.

Would really appreciate any advice :)

note: I also noticed that some Dutch universities offer Dutch courses for very cheap (like €50) and from what I could find Leiden does offer A1 courses for beginners but way more expensive (€490 for students)

Hello I’m 22F starting my LLM in International Children’s Rights this fall. Had a question about the housing websites; i registered in time for University housing (around Dec) before it was full and my programme means I’m on the second tier or priority. However for back up housing; I have registered at kamernet, host housing websites and most facebook groups but I am hearing that it’s almost impossible to secure housing via these websites. Is this true and what other sites should I be registering for?

Also does anyone have any tips on how I should be messaging because I don’t seem to be getting any responses.

P.S: if you are going to say anything about how incredibly late I am, please don’t bother, I am aware and that’s unhelpful.
