Ran out of time at KSC visitor complex - can anyone help me out?

Went to Kennedy Space Center visitor complex today and loved the merch at the Space Shop, but ran out of time before I could grab anything I wanted. I'm flying out of MCO tomorrow before it reopens, and it looks like the airport KSC stores are gone now.

Sadly it also looks like a lot of the better items are missing from their online store.

Still travelling around the US for a few weeks - I will be in DC, NYC and very briefly in LA. Does anyone have recommendations for places with similarly good NASA/space merch? Mainly after nicer design shirts, magnets, patches, etc.

Also a long shot, but if anyone local to KSC is heading there soon and would be willing to help me grab a couple of items and ship them within the US, I’d happily cover everything + extra for your time 🚀

Tickets are guest specific?

I purchased 4 tickets for oyr visit next week, using my Sam’s Club membership. All the tickets have my name on them and I am a paranoid person. I am assuming that this is because I am the purchaser. But want to make sure that all of us will be able to enter with those tickets. Thanks in advance!

Visiting in September

We are visiting for a full day in September as a break in our Disney trip. I'm trying to decide between a Thursday and a Friday...pros or cons either way? I haven't been in probably 40 years and bringing my 6yo son. Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can find this mug?

Post image

My mom and I visited kennedy space center sometime between 2008 and 2010 (i think) and got these mugs, one blue, one green. They meant a lot to us, but 10 years later my sister broke my mug and her sister broke hers. I cannot find these ANYWHERE and there is no evidence of them ever existing. Please help. This is the only image I have of it, it’s a screenshot from a video I took in 2018. Thank you.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex Tickets

We are supposed to visit Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on April 1st.

We have 4 tickets already, 2 adults, 2 kids.

I just noticed a launch scheduled for April 1st. If the launch does happen, does that mean we can watch the launch from the Visitor Complex or do we need separate tickets for the launch itself?

Why is Stephen Colbert's photo at the Kennedy Space Center Space Shuttle Atlantis Exhibit?

I went to the KSC last week and I noticed Stephen Colbert's photo at the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit, near the space shuttle toilet exhibit. It seemed so strange to see Stephen Colbert's face so prominently displayed. Does anybody know why his photo is included in that section of the exhibit?

Explore Tour 2/15

Booked the explore tour for my fiancée and I as a birthday gift (her birthday is Valentine’s Day so we usually make it a point to celebrate the day before or after).

When we first got on the bus, we were told that we might not get to go out to 39b because Space X was moving a rocket out to the pad. We were bummed, but already planning to book another tour for the following weekend. We are annual pass holders and probably go out to KSC at least 2-3 times a month, so it wasn’t a huge deal.

To compensate missing out on seeing Artemis up close, the tour took us to the crew quarters and even took us to the famous doors where the astronauts board the space van on the day they depart on their mission.

While we were exploring the VAB, our guide tells us that the Space X rocket transport is ahead of schedule and should be clear by the time we are supposed to head to the pad and as an unexpected bonus, we got to watch the rocket and payload cruise by us on its way to 39a!

I never imagined that we would be able to get as close to the pad as we did. It was absolutely BREATHTAKING.

I have included pictures here, but they don’t do it justice. If you can, book the explore tour while Artemis is out there. It’s worth every single penny of the $30!

General Launch Viewing

For spring break my friends and I in engineering are going to be in the Cape Canaveral area. If there is a Space-X launch during normal park hours (they have multiple a week so I'm hoping they do), are you able to park at the southern most playalinda parking lot? I know it's about a mile walk south to the beach fence from there. If not are you allowed to park further north and walk to the beach border from there?

As part of the KSC Elite VIP Tour, you will get as close as a civilian can to the launch pad. It's amazing to see in person!

Question re: Launches and Admission- Specific Scenario

So when you purchase a launch ticket you also have to purchase an admission ticket which makes sense. But let's say the launch is outside of normal hours, can you use the admission at a different time/date than the launch. Specifically, if the launch is Thursday morning at 5:30 am (before KSC opens) can I use the admission to visit on Wednesday and still have my launch ticket be valid? Does this make sense?

Launch Viewing

I was looking for options to view the launch. Do you need tickets to view the launch from the space center area? Is there some where for free general viewing. I think Ive missed the window to purchase lawn tickets :(

Hi! Does anyone know if you’re able to see Artemis from the regular bus tour included in the admission? I’m planning to go there tomorrow and I’m just wondering. Thanks!

Need recommendations of area to stay in

Hi all!

While I wasn’t able to get the ‘Fell the heat’ tickets to the launch, I bought the main visitor complex tickets. Irrespective of the fact that it’s worth it or not, it’s my first time and I had to buy the admission tickets to NASA anyway.

But as it turns out, I might be indeed too late to the party and seems like hotels and airbnbs nearby is either full or extremely expensive.

Is staying an hour away from the Kennedy Space Center okay? In the sense, I’ve seen people saying they were stuck in traffic for hours together getting there and leaving from there on launch there. I’m genuinely confused and running out of time to book places 1 hour away too, as everything is getting booked out.

Please share your suggestions and recommendations, thank you.

Hi, Planning to buy package for 2 to watch the launch of Artemis 2..the email which I received regarding Artemis 2 launch says date can be finalized any day and any time of day or night..so we are like 2.5 hr drive and wanted to know.how.soom will we be updated regarding the launch date/time? Is it worth buying the package ? The statement can be decided any day and any time of day/time is misleading..could anyone share their prior launch experience? Any insights is appreciated
