Itinerary !!MUST PROVIDE TRAVEL DATES!! Vatican City Self-Guided Tour
Hi All,
I have a booked two timed Entry tickets and wasn't sure if the timing is too tight. This are all booked on Wednesday May 6th.
St Peter's Basilica at 1:30PM along with elevator to Dome
Vatican Museum at 3:00PM
Is this sufficient time to do both? I am worried about the walk from the Basilica to the Vatican along with the security check times and I don't want to miss the timed entry to the Vatican.
Does anyone have any insights on whether this is doable? if so, what time should we leave the Basilica to ensure we can make it to the Vatican Museum on time?
Thanks in advance!

We noticed that you may be asking a question about tours. Rule 6 prohibits offers or requests for 3rd party tour bookings, tour products & tour services including travel agents, tours-tour guides-tour companies & any other independent non-official tour services, including solicitations of any kind. Many "tours" of any sight/site in IT are from 3rd parties and can be unreliable & dishonest at best, dangerous at worst. We do not allow these types of posts and they will be deleted by the Mods. Caveat emptor applies to all 3rd party non-authorized tour services if you do decide to use them- we suggest paying by credit card to prevent fraud & file chargebacks if necessary.

Check Rick Steves' Audio Europe app (free), for self guided tours of the Sistine,, the Basilica, and the museums. They'll give you an idea of the time needed for each.

You're fine. Spend 1h at the basilica and then 30min to walk to the vatican + get in line (it doesn't take 30min, but you can leave some more room if you're nervous).

It takes a ton of time to get thru security at St. Peter’s. The lines are horrific. Maybe pre booking minimizes this but beware.
The tower is on one side (maybe far right as you face it, also a big ass line). Our worst experience was the Basilica
We had Vatican tour guide that didn’t include the basilica direct entry through a side door near the Sistine chapel. Other private services did.
The museum door is not near the basilica main entry so it will be tight.
