That sure is an unpopular opinion but I'm in no position to judge. I enjoy free-handing hazard stripes...

The peeling of the tape when using the tape method is really satisfying

I imagine it is. It just turns out I have a knack for painting straight lines and find it very enjoyable.

I like free hand lines to give it a ‘DIY’ look. I like using tape for that manufactured look.

I find it to be one of the most gratifying parts of a paint job. Really pulls the model together

I'm the same, I like that the trim breaks up the large blocks of the same colour and adds the opportunity to add a different material and weathering to my models.

I will die on the hill that the most fun I ever had painting was when I painted my helldrake

Same. Especially for black leigion. It pretty much just follow the lines. And it kinda does all the edge highlights for your because it naturally seperates the armor panels. I spent the last year painting death gaurd and I wanted to get back to my csm. My god it was basically child's play. A very nice break from all the textures and details that come with DG. I was able to space out and just paint.

I do 50 model batch paints… you’re a psycho! Amazing work though. I wish I could enjoy that process.

Same! Every time one of my old synthetic detail brushes starts getting that hook-tip, I think “Yay, brand new trim brush!!”

Same, it's a lot of work but the results can be so satisfying.

The amazing part is the trim adds so much detailing that once it's colored the model immediately looks solid even before highlighting or any advanced techniques. Very satisfying

On daemon engines and characters I enjoy it but definitely not on battleline troops

So, i wouldnt say i enjoy the PROCESS of painting armour trim, but i LOVE the result! The main reason i find it difficult to paint tanks, is because im not sure what to do without armour trim
