Recruitment Chances of getting in

Hi all, I've applied for Air Corp general service and am just wondering the likelihood of me getting in should I meet the requirements. I assumed like any military they take anyone they can get who meets the minimum requirements. However after watching the RTE documentary on the army they make it seem as though the chances of getting an offer for general service are still very low.

For context I've just finished college and don't want to go into the office work and am currently applying to both Air Corp and the Guards. I just don't want to get my hopes up and delay my career waiting on this to simply not get in.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Will be fine lad, quite under strength at the minute and especially with a degree they will take you as long as you meet the fitness standards

your chance of getting in completely depends on you. if you really want it, and you prepare enough for each stage, youll get an offer. Unless of course you have something bad on your record or are otherwise unfit

I know for the cadetship they are really dragging their heels and recruitment.... I have to wait 3 months for an interview that said

Yeah that's why I ended up going with recruits. I know the cadetship is fairly competitive and didn't want to just bank on it. So going to apply in February, when I'm hopefully already in and it opens back up.

What cadetship did you apply for?

At the moment given the recruitment issues or the retention to be more specific if you meet the criteria you should be fine. Its not like during the recession where the criteria were was a minimum base line.
