Securing funding is going to take time. You’ve a few different options. In terms of funding opportunities in Ireland - there’s Screen Ireland which has a lot of different funds available spanning from development - production - marketing. It might be worth reaching out to them.
Coimisun na mean has funding available for films - worth looking up it’s called the sound and vision scheme I think.
Different countries have different tax incentives to encourage production in their country - I’m pretty sure both Ireland and Portugal have one so if you were to look at finding production partners in both countries you could avail of both incentives.
The MEDIA fund is an EU funding stream for production, I don’t know a huge amount about it but it’s worth giving it a google.
This is amazing help, thank you so much! I'll definitely have a look at those. I was under the impression that a certain percentage of the film would have to be shot in Ireland, and so far we only have a few scenes in the script, but it's worth checking out!
It’s basic information and you’re right you would need to be filming Ireland, you’re best bet might be to seek out an experienced producer in Ireland/Portugal maybe try and work with them as they’ll
Have experience in getting funding etc.
