Seeking Advice Should I consider this position?

So a bit of context,

I have been working in the IT scape for a year 1/2 with a degree in cybersecurity. Learning the ropes, I basically do what a systems administrator does from time to time within the position I am in since I take over when they are not present in the building. I saw this systems admin role open next to me that I am sure I can meet the requirements as I do a majority of those tasks already combined with IT Support work. What would be some advice taken into consideration when applying and undergoing the interview process?

Should there be some skills I brush up on? Or what would be the best approach to this? Any advice is appreciated!

You can build out and deploy infrastructure from start to finish and troubleshoot all those services and integrate them?

Administrator supports the infrastructure but is also expected to know how to deploy it from scratch.

If you can handle that and not need to ask for help then sure.

Say your admin left the company for good, and you became the go to guy when the IT manager sits down and tells you they need to build out and engineer a whole new system, you can speak on it intelligently and then go and deploy it all?

You can apply anyways and see what happens

Been doing similar tasks for year and half so far, mostly covering when main admin is out. Problem is there's difference between maintaining existing systems and building from ground up like you mentioned

The deployment from scratch part would definitely need some practice on my side. Maybe worth applying anyway to see what specific requirements they looking for in interview process? Worst case scenario you get good practice talking about these topics and know what areas to focus on improving
