Looking for some family vehicle advice.
Current family:
- Me
- My wife
- 2-year-old son
- 8-year-old stepson (with us about 50% of the time)
We're also actively trying for a second child, so I'm trying to plan ahead rather than wait until we're in a rush.
Current vehicles:
- Honda Accord (paid off)
- 2024 Hyundai Palisade
I'm considering the following as a replacement for my Accord:
- 2025/2026 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid
- 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid
- 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid
- 2026 Kia Carnival Hybrid
I'm struggling with how to objectively compare them beyond:
- Appearance
- Powertrain
- Purchase price
Things that matter to us:
- Reliability
- Fuel economy
- Long-term ownership (likely 8-10+ years)
- Comfort on road trips
- Cargo space for family travel
- Ease of living with multiple kids/car seats
- Technology and safety features
- Overall value
For those who have owned or cross-shopped any of these vehicles, what would you choose and why?
If you were in my situation (family of 4 now, likely family of 5 in the near future), which vehicle would you buy and what factors would push you in that direction?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
