What theories have you formed about Horizon III?

Elysium was mentioned in both games, Aloy should visit it in the 3rd game to find out why the connection was cut off before the due date.

It’s 2028, still no horizon 3, I’m on my 26th playthrough for forbidden west, I’m going crazy, I’m institutionalized - my theory.

2030 at least.

I would like to see Ban-Ur. Technically Aloy is still a chieftain considering you have to challenge someone to lose it. She just passed it back because they couldn’t follow her to where she was going. But that distinction feels like it could come back up. I would also like to see the Banuk again.

I’m really curious because they mentioned a Ravenous Tribe in the Banuk legends for the DLC. But I don’t believe it was mentioned in HFW. I don’t believe we heard another tribe mentioned in the origins of other tribes. That feels deliberate.

At the end of HFW, 4 locations popped up, further North of where the Claim and Ban-Ur is theorized to be located. I think 2 of those locations are at the Edge of the Claim. We might see some Quen settlements. I think 2 locations might be where the Ravenous Tribe is located and we might see parts of Ban-Ur. At least that’s what I’m hoping for. I don’t know if they’ll introduce new tribes.

We’re going to see that rogue AI, Vast Silver pop up. It was mentioned in both games. It will play a larger role in the main game or it could set up to have a larger role in another game. I would like to see them mention CYAN, but I’m not sure if we’ll see her again.

I’m assuming we’re going to go into Space at some point. It would not shock me for us to see more clones. Not just clones of Elisabeth Sobeck but of the other Alphas. Especially Far Zenith. I think it should be Travis Tate.

I would like to see more datapoints and holos about Far Zenith.

I’m hoping we’ll see the Quen Mainland but it’s more likely that we’ll get settlements. They might focus a game with a completely different characters there. Maybe game 3 will hint at it.

I wonder if they’re going to expand on environment/weather effecting Aloy. Example: reacting to the cold or the heat.

I’m hoping they’ll expand on the focus network for Aloy and companions. We’ll be able to stay in touch more. I want more voicecalls.

Aloy is supposed to be a very huggy person so I’m hoping they expand on this.

Machines….They’re lacking small machines.

I would like to see them explore machines trapping people.

I think for Sylens they’re going to have to do what they did in Frozen Wilds. We’re finding datapoints about him or people who “knew” him. I don’t know how much they were able to record before Lance Reddick passed on.

I’m hoping we see flying combat. But we barely got flying in time.

[I would like to see them add DLCs to the previous games to cover The Claim and Ban-Ur. Ban-Ur in HZD. The Claim in HFW. The third game can focus on other things. But that feels unlikely.]

Not a theory, more of a wishlist thing, but I am really hoping that by the third game, Aloy will be able to use the shieldwing to block/parry. It feels like the most natural progression to combat if they intend to keep it somewhat tribal

Gameplay wise i'm betting we're going to get some new abilities that better utilise flying and swimming.

Forbidden West was mostly about new traversal abilities and more elaborate melee combat, whilst swimming and flying were mostly just there as ways to get from point A to point B.

Story wise Forbidden West was pretty much building up to the idea that space travel would eventually enter the mix. Yeah it was just the Zeniths that did it but with Nemesis floating around in space it feels like there's justification for leaving the planet. Aloy was only against it in the context of fleeing Nemesis, but if it's done as a means of fighting Nemesis she'll probably be all for it.

I loved the Base and having a team. I’d like you to be able to choose different characters for missions like in Mass Effect. I’d also love if the story changed or people reacted to you differently depending on how you played it and answered things in conversation.

Ive mentioned this before, and understandably everyone hated the idea.

But I think in the finale, Aloy will sacrifice herself just like Elizabet did

I think the better (and more narratively rich) route would be Aloy, unreasonably self-sacrificial as she is, will decide that she has to and will go throw herself against some big beastie, but her squad will suss out what she's doing and figure out some alternative. They'll come save the day, thus giving Aloy the resolution that Elizabet never got because she wasn't able to really let people in.

I like that. And to further that, before the final battle, she brings all the tribes together to help fight, similar to the final battle of ZD just on a much larger scale

What I would want to see in the finale is a several-part climactic conflict: first, Aloy and squad fight against some big nasty. Then, Aloy sends her squad, each by now expert veterans and leaders, to command groups from the various tribes she's helped. Kotallo leading a group of Tenakth, Erend leading a group of Oseram, etc. Aloy goes off on her own for some critical challenge, expecting to die in achieving the goal but prepared for it. Her squad show up, having done their jobs as commanders, and save her from her own pathological need to be the One Who Does It At Any Cost. Then, reunited and invigorated by their comraderie, the squad goes on to face down the big bad (probably a huge single-machine embodiment of Nemesis, but maybe it's something else) together, each with their own contribution to the fight but Aloy at the center.

I also want/expect for Beta to be part of the intro, with Aloy teaching her to hunt and fight (so we have Aloy saying "follow me, and do [thing]" and we then do it, then Beta follows suit) and Beta teaching Aloy about whatever new or updated Focus functions we have.

I think itd also be neat, but also kinda silly, for Nemesis to infiltrate Haphestus and create humanoid machines that are like berserkers bringing Nemesis' hatred into physical form

While I think that would be interesting, I don't think I want to see machines that look human. If they're built on a human pattern but 11 feet tall and laced with lights and tanks of blaze or something, that'd be fine with me, but I would expect that both Nemesis and HEPHAESTUS would prefer non-humanoid forms.

HEPHAESTUS should continue to strongly favor animal-based body plans, to my mind, and Nemesis should be making things patterned off of abstracts that don't really look like anything specific.

That is what i was thinking and hoping. Her dying would be to cliché and not give Elisabets story true closure of peace

I’d like to see them jump several centuries into the future and show a true rebuilding of civilization. And the battles around that.
