Help & Issues Ve commodore stuck in reverse

Went to put my car in park after pulling into the lot, and it janked down to reverse after putting it in park, and am now unable to change gears, sports shift turns on but it still stays in reverse.

Does anyone know what's wrong?

I have called rscv btw, I'm not just sitting here 😭

Maybe the linkage has come off the shifter

Yep just got it diagnosed, turned out to be the linkage had completely came off

Very common issue with them, the best way to stop it from happening again, is to use a shift rod retainer from a VT to VZ, that’s got a bolt instead of the stupid nylon crap that Holden decided was ok to use on ve.
( I’ve retrofitted dozens of them this way & never had one complaint )

I was going to say the car was trying to go back in time to stop Abbott and Hockey killing Holden.
