Ve commodore stuck in reverse

Went to put my car in park after pulling into the lot, and it janked down to reverse after putting it in park, and am now unable to change gears, sports shift turns on but it still stays in reverse.

Does anyone know what's wrong?

I have called rscv btw, I'm not just sitting here 😭

Does the gear stick seem to slide a bit more freely then before? That would indicate a cable/linkage failure.
