Alpha Dorm Hildesheim

Hello everyone,

I recently got a contract offer from Alpha Dorm, but I couldn’t find any reviews or firsthand experiences online. If anyone has lived there (or is currently staying), I’d really appreciate your feedback. I’m especially curious about Kitchen facilities, Toilets/bathrooms, and Laundry situation

Any insights, good or bad, would really help me decide. Thanks in advance!

Hi. I toured the Studentenwohnheim half a year ago when I was looking for dorms. The 2 postive things I can say is that the dorm is postioned close to the university and the room is quite cheap. Other than that what struck me was how dirty the communal kitchen, bathroom and shower was. The building in general is quite dirty imo. The apartment is also very small. I can't say anything about the laundry situation. I would advise you to visit the dorm to get a first hand impression.

We have a laundromat in the basement that for sure is a mess and it costs 1€ per wash at least and only accepts 50 cent coins

Kitchen has everything you need but we often have troubles with the freezer breaking since it's too small for all of us

Bathrooms are just about alright one of the showers is prone to clogging but with the new owner it is kept pretty clean

There are 6 floors in total depends on which floor u got the room Previously it was not managed properly But since the change of owner last month there are major improvements

For laundry washing is free but for the dryer u need to pay 50 cents No shared items in kitchen u need to bring all your cooking stuff

Thanks for the info. So, you there's no way to store foods like fruits and vegetables that rot pretty quickly? Meaning you have to shop for them daily?

I live there rn, since the ownership change tidiness massively improved! It's close to campus but still far from perfect the fittings are still quite old, but it's a good place to start out
