E-String Removal Odour?

I’ve been struggling with vestibulodynia for about 3 years now and finally was prescribed a vaginal e-string. I’ve been wearing it for about a month now with slight improvements, but I took it out tonight and noticed it had a bad odour. Has anyone ever experienced this? It did have a bit of white coating on it but it’s hard to know whether or not that is yeast (didn’t smell too bread like) or if it’s just the vaginal cream I’ve been using. Has anyone had any experience with this?
